If you're at JBLM contacting the DAV won't always provide any help, I contacted them last week and got told that there was nothing they can or would do to help, and that everyone just has to be patient and wait. of course his attitude changed after I told him I had been waiting since 4 Dec 12...that's when he went form saying it'll take 4 months to process to it take a year...talk about making someone feel caught in a line of BS

Wow, I am sorry you have waited so long, and are still waiting. It doesn't make sense to me, it seems like it is just hit n miss with the VA. It seems like they don't care to prioritize claims, they just grab a claim off the shelf and start on it.
It seems as though there is no one in charge there. I don't know, I just know that some of the claims are getting done fast and others seem to have to wait forever, and it doesn't matter the amount or difficulty of the claims either. I have seen claims be done that had way more than myself and more difficult too.

Same thing here. My BDE alone had 2 or 3 cases more complex than mine (all junior Soldiers too) start the process at the same time mine went to the PEB, and are already completed. It truly doesn't make any sense to me either, and am completely disappointed in the process. Hopefully my Congressman will get things moving again for me.

I've already written two of my Senators and my Congressman. Still nothing.

Has anybody on this forum ever had a Congressman help out with their claim?

Unless a claim is past due the rough estimates I don't think they will step in

Day 138 since unfit memo. Peblo can't tell me anything. MSC says, "you're just now hitting the new expected window for IDES of 6-9 months." Apparently VA has a new order to process all non-IDES claims that are over a year old first. Yeah more waiting and patience.
Not sure if he was right on that. According to the statement released by the VA on the 19th, yes they are prioritizing veteran claims over a year old. With that though, it states near the bottom of the article (link below), that IDES personnel will still be prioritized separately and that the average wait time is 61 days.

http://www.va.gov/opa/pressrel/pressrelease.cfm?id=2436

"Wounded Warriors separating through IDES currently receive VA compensation benefits in an average of 61 days following their separation from service."
The article only says that after you get out you will start receiving your benefits in an average of 61 days. Rating time is still apparently much longer than that for IDES.

The timelines you see on this forum is only a small % of the overall estimates so 2 months or 61s days seems like a fair average, when I was attached to WTU soldiers was getting rating back 2 months or less and looking at other forums like this one 2 months is a fair average but either way were told this IDES can take a year or so

getting your rating finalized will take just as long as your proposed did if not longer, so if it was me making the decisions I'd speed up the process to complete proposed rating so DOD can rate you n get you your 199 and let you retire or get severance since the VA will review to finalize your ratings after you become a veteran anyway

146 days since unfit memo and 166 days since signing Narsum...growing increasingly frustrated

70 days for me, last week my ebenefits finally showed a result, pending decision. Today it is now saying under review... so its going backwards haha.

Today hit 76 days since Letter for ratings sent to VA. Did the Paperwork for Congressional Inquiry this morning. I hope to hear something back soon. It's April 22nd, and we still have snow and ice on the ground here, and Im so tired of the cold, and the pain it causes in all my joints. I told my PEBLO that I did not feel like I was getting any individualized attention to my case, and she told me she briefed me that I needed to be prepared for the process to take 8-10 months if not longer. I surely hope that i not the case. I am very frustrated with the whole ordeal.

Today I hit day 90. I agree its frustrating its hard to try and plan for anything. I call my peblo and just get told that he will call me when he hears something and to just wait. He also told me that they get a status check done monthly to make sure the packets are still there but can't tell me anything about mine or where it is at. I watched a buddy of mine start the end of Sept beginning of October and was out of the Army by Feb. I was hoping mine was going to go that quickly. The Meb to unfit took 62 days. Now I sit and wait. I just wish I knew when it would be over.

You think this makes any sense? I get proposed ratings, and I'm happy yes, but looking at the evidence there were provided with only 2-1/2 yrs worth of my med records and not 22 yrs worth. Crazy I think!

I haven't seen my 199, but when I do, I'll probably just stare it, grab it, and head to legal.

After claims are proposed by a rater they have to be reviewed by the raters supervisor, also some raters probably rate faster then others that's why some claims come back quicker than others, and their probably is maybe a couple supervisors in each IDES office so imagine how long it takes to review all the claims before its sent back through PEB, and the average 2-3 month wait time for VA is still quick that's why they review the claim again once you get retired

If you file a claim as a veteran the average wait time is 8-10 months
But I understand the frustration
WTU is the best place to be for IDES, I know at Bragg you could either go to college or do a internship

I'm at Bragg and I was never afforded the opportunity to go to the WTU...

Two weeks ago I wrote my congressman. Three days later the inquiry showed on Ebenefits. On Thursday it changed for the first time in almost four months to "Pending Decision Approval". I'm not saying the inquiry is what made the change but the timing is right.

I really hope peding decision approval turns into some ratings soon.
