Seattle Regional VA Timelines:

Anyone have any ideal what they mean by "Requesting Seperation Documents" on ebennies? Status is still at "gathering evidence".
From what I've gathered from others on here, that is a pretty good sign that your ratings are complete and most likely sent to the PEB. Apparently, in a lot of cases, your ebenny's will drop back to "Gathering of Evidence" and show "Requesting Separation Documents" when this happens. I would take it as a good sign. Good luck!

It sounds like most here are in the same boat with waiting. This is my first post and the community seems to be nice from what I have read in various threads. Most people here seem to be helpful in nature.

I've attached my timeline to my signature. Has anyone in the IDES system actually met the 60 day, post-ETS timeline for receiving their award letter and package?

Thanks,

Boots

Boots: at least you are at home where you do not have a chain of command bearing down on you for being overweight and broke, my unit is making overweight do extra PT in the afternoon and it has to be intense and they are reducing rank for overweight MEB has nothing to do with it according to them....... I think this should be a crime to do to a soldier who has tried and given his/her best just to see it taken away!

Yea something is wrong Im at day 150 tomorrow Monday 6\3\13 after unfit but all I can do is wait and stir up the MSC, VA and, Peblo........tomorrow I hope to do just that!!

If you haven't already try a Congressional. It's the only thing that got me moving after I hit the 150 plus mark.

Fort Polk sends our packets to Seatle. My packet is not very complex. I am waiting on narsum to be written. After that, I was told average 2 month wait for ratings. (we will see)

The only thing I am starting to see is that the nurse case managers are starting to call soliders. The Commanders are sending up soldiers names who need to be evaluted because they have been on a profile for a while. I see A LOT more people in the MEB process by the start of FY 14.

HA they told us that too and its now 6 months with no sign of anything.

ranchero is right I was told 2-3 months average but here we are 6 months later

I am at Fort Polk too.

I was told by many non VA sources that the process after the unfit memo was written was 60-120 days. (Again non VA) The VA reps at the call center give a cookie cutter answer of up to 9 plus months and to be thankful I have a job and a paycheck right now, yadda yadda yadda. I interpret that to mean “I’ll get them when I get them and not one minute before or after. I have by no means waited a long time; by reading on this forum it looks like I should be waiting awhile for Seattle to get to my packet. I want it right and I want it right now. But I am not going to get both. Don’t mistake me I am not complaining as there are many here who have waited so very long for their ratings. Like everyone else I need to plan the next step and cannot until the ratings appear. After they do I should have 90 days plus whatever it takes to get the 199 signed to make my stuff happen: new house, job, what have you.

Now don't count you're chickens to soon I got a SGT that just got his ratings and he started in MAR 13
it maybe fast may be slow just know that I am at 150 days today and this next couple of weeks I'm leaving no stone unturned they all getting to here from me... congress, MSC, VA, peblo, everyone that'll listen.

I'm all about waiting my time but this has gone long enough now my COC is trying anything they can to make MEBs flip so they can chapter them instead of MEBing out!!!!!! BC yet again the VA is causing a delay and COC's are getting anxious!

Brother I am all about waiting my time too. I feel for the Soldiers suffering this abuse. That abuse in just plain wrong! I do not have statistics but I am willing to go out on a limb and guess that many Soldiers going through the process would wish their body and or mind were whole and healthy again; but what do they get? Treated like they are lower than low and abused for going through a DOD process. That’s the hardest part about these poor Soldiers. The MEB process is a Standardized process. If there was no need for it there would be no process. Most of these Soldiers have done nothing wrong. I have already been found unfit and am just waiting on %’s; however I have been told by my NCO SC at the highest levels informally that if by some miracle I was found fit, they would find another way to get me gone. I have an exemplary record, so the only conclusion I can draw from this is that I would be punished for having put the COC through my MEB. I want to believe that I was mistaken, or did not understand. But then I see Soldiers in the larger units going through hell. I am in a small unit and my rank insulates me somewhat so I am by no means suffering like they are. But I absolutely agree with you that these commands need to leave these Soldiers alone and stop the abuse. This was one of the reasons WTU’s were made for, to allow these Soldiers to go through this process unhindered.

Perhaps I phrased my previous post badly; Overall I mean to say that I recognize that many others have waited much longer and have been put through more cheetah flips and been made to jump through more flaming hoops than I have. And really just because I want something doesn’t make it happen any faster. I am not entitled to be pushed to the front of the line or to receive special treatment.

Brother I do hope they sort your stuff out and work your file like you deserve. I hope for that for everyone. But you are right that a Soldier should not be harassed or punished for the VA being overwhelmed or not being efficient enough. And these dam commands need to support the system not turn it into some house of horrors for these Soldiers stuck in their units having to go through their process while dodging a COC that resents them for occupying a slot they want to refill early.

Man I wish a Congressman,Senator,or someone who cared would read this and tell them to leave us alone instead we just get percicuted (spelling isnt my thing sorry) for tring to move over and let others take our spot!

I'm coming up on 180 days waiting on my VA ratings. I started a Congressional a few weeks ago, I'm hoping that will move things along.

What is the usual experience with a Congressional inquiry, how long did it take after the filing of the Congressional before you experienced movement in your case? Is there any use in having a second Congressional started (I have residences in two Congressional districts.)

i did one dude, they helped but even doing one, its still taking time. I just got told my ratings on the the 23rd and am now looking for my 199. Keep your head up itll come i know its not what you want to hear but with these people holding the reins its the best your gonna hear!

That's all there is to do at this point. I appreciate the info though, judging by your timeline we're pretty much on the same timeline, my stuff got the the VA on Dec 12th.

i got the DAV envolved as well dude id call them and get them on it too! Trust me i know more about whats going on with me then all the peblos at the hospital

Got my Preliminary Ratings this morning. It took 126 days. Still have to wait for 199. Let see how long that will take. Next Question for the forum; What should I expect for retirement at 70% DOD, and 90% VA with over 20 years Active, and 26 total for pay. I'm a High 3 diems guy. Any Help would be great.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Congratulations on receipt of your IPEB findings with DoD and DoVA proposed ratings!

Well, there's not enough information to provide any potential approximate DoD disability retirement pay and DoVA disability compensation. That said, I suggest that you visit the DFAS website URL http://www.dfas.mil/militarymembers/woundedwarrior/disabledretireest.html to calculate any potential disability retirement pay.

Moreover, did you receive a DA Form 5892 (PEBLO Estimated Disability Compensation Worksheet) completed by your PEBLO during counseling on the PEB's findings? This form is to be completed for Soldiers entitled to Army disability compensation.

To that extent, if the DA Form 5892 was not received then I strongly suggest that you make an inquiry for immediate generation and receipt of the aforementioned form to your PEBLO. Upon receipt of the DA Form 5892, it shall display your monthly basic pay, estimated retired pay base, disability percentage, disposition, estimated retired Pay (PDR or TDRL), etc.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

DFAS Link does not seem to work. Will work out 5982 next week, that should give some kind of estimate.

Sorry to hear that the DFAS website URL is not functioning properly; I rechecked the URL and it's operationally functional. Oh well; no worries, it's all good! :)

As I stated previously, the DA Form 5892 is your best approach to view any potential entitlements to U.S. Army disability compensation. Good deal, tactfully engage your PEBLO to provide the aforementioned form which he/she should have done during your initial counseling upon receipt of the IPEB findings!
