Separation Overview

Hey everyone.

Just wanted to go through my transition to hopefully help anyone along the way. Here's my timeline and I'll go through what I did:

06 June 2025 - First Humira injection for severe psoriasis
17 Feb 2026 - PEBLO brief; SHA sent.
20 Feb 2026 - NMA signed
06 Mar 2026 - First C&P
20 Mar 2026 - NMA sent to PEBLO along with dermatology note saying 40% BSA, not well controlled on Humira but will wait to switch to different Biologic once timelines are more predictable (separation).
27 Mar 2026 - MyNavyAssignment changed from "Temporary Non-deployable - IPEB Initiated" to "Non-Deployable - MEB accepted" and IMR to "Partially Medically Ready" to "Not Medically ready - MEB accepted"
02 Apr 2026 - Last C&P
13 Apr 2026 - Exams Received
14 Apr 2026 - DES Lawyer APT
VA checked the wrong box. Informed I may need VARR to go from 10% DOD 70% VA to 60/90.
17 Apr 2026 - VA step 5/5. PEBLO says she sees 90% VA
06 May 2026 - Received findings. 60% DOD/90% VA. Will sign tomorrow after legal apt. SO HAPPY! NO VARR!
07 May 2026 - Signed and returned.

Employment
So in April after talking to legal and my PEBLO, we were all pretty confident the finding would be unfit. So I started applying to jobs mid-April and got an offer at the end of April. I made sure that they know my timeline was likely August but could shift left or right. They were very understanding and said we could proceed and to keep them posted. So post-Navy employment was figured out.

Selling Home
I got in touch with Veterans United in March and they linked me with a realtor pretty early. He did a walkthrough in March. We did all of our major decluttering, painting, and packing away unnecessary things throughout April. We took our photos on like May 1st, expecting findings to come within a week or two. As soon as the findings came, we listed.
So lessons learned: I think we should've listed sooner. Even with aiming for a 30 contract, another 30 days of closing would take us to around July. Our preapproval to buy our next home is contingent upon this home selling. So since I signed May 7, orders should hit around the 21st which would put us back home in mid to late june... which means we couldn't close on our next house before getting there. Plan is to just Airbnb until we sell/close. If I could go back, I would've listed in March and if our house sold before actually leaving, we would Airbnb on this side of the timeline.

Transition
So I did TAPS back in 2025 minus the Capstone. As soon as findings hit, I scheduled the capstone.
