Where does the separation physical go and how does it effect Va final ratings?

Would be used to complete the NARSUM. It likely does not impact VA ratings in IDES (at least the initial ratings).

Jason, are you referring to the narsum at re-evaluation? I've already sent my narsum up and got initial findings back. Is it possible to have conditions added later for pending appts/results if they are done after the separation physical? Thanks!

No...normally, the "separation physical" will be used for the NARSUM on original adjudication. The services use slightly different terminology/procedures....but, essentially, the MEB exam suffices to meet service requirements for a separation physical (though, there is a separate issue that can come up as to completeness).

Yes.

Ok, I'm definitely completely lost now. I thought that the separation physical was just the last physical on active duty which everyone going into the services, commissioning, or separating must complete. I was told that it was needed to complete dd214 but nothing about how it would complete the narsum.

I am scheduled for my physical monday, they didnt care that i was MEB'd out. I BELIEVE that the seperation physical is for people to get everything documented for future VA claims and make sure the SM does not have any outstanding medical issues. I also believe that to keep it simple on the MTF, they will complete one even if you have been MEB'd out... either that or they dont know any better....AKA, they dont know who to give a physical too and who not too, so they give one to everyone just to ensure there butts are covered.

Ok, that makes sense. I was reading the top of form2807 and it got me wondering bc it said that it gets forwarded to va
