Should I appeal?

This is my case: AF 3 years of service, MEB for cold urticaria and asthma (both service connected). No deployments
My VA ratings are 10% for cold urticaria and 30% for asthma. DoD only gave me 10% for the cold urticaria (CAT I) but didn't rate at all my asthma which its in CAT II. They decided discharge with severence pay.

Should I appeal?

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Indeed and please remain "positively proactive" while in the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process while never defaulting acceptance to any injustices; fight then continue to fight some more until receipt of your desired expectations supportive via medical evidence and/or medical documentation! Take care and enjoy life!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

What is your argument the asthma is unfitting? It might very well be but you will need to make the argument in terms of its impact on duty performance. Did your medical assessment/commander's statement address the impact of your asthma on your duty performance? Do you agree the other condition rates 10% per the VASRD? Do have other conditions that were not included in your MEB/PEB?

I haven't agreed anything yet, my commander's statement says that as long as I'm wearing winter clothes I can do my daily duties. He recommended to retain. But I can't deploy, I'm not in my primary AFSC. My asthma wasn't the unfitting reason. I have asthma because of cold urticaria but I was rated by 30% by VA because of my fit test and treatments. My asthma has got worse after my package was sent. The reason they gave me no rating in my 356 for asthma is that it's controllable and not reason for unfitting. But like I said, my asthma is not mild anymore and does not react with my cold urticaria only. I believe they only based the rating with the document they received at that time.

Sir, what do you recommend I should do?
