SLEEP APNEA

I HAVE SLEEP APNEA PLUS ON CPACK WHICH I HAVE TROUBLE WEARING ANYWAY I DIDNT KNOW U COULD FILE A CLAIM FOR THAT HOW DO THEY RATE U FOR IT ?

For my OSA they looked at my paperwork from my sleep study and gave me 30%. Then they gave me a CPAP machine because I didn't already have one. So now my rating is 50%. So pretty much as long as you have paperwork from the military in your medical record about your sleep apnea with CPAP you will get 50%.

wow great now i need to get a cmp? for that or do i go though my v.a. rep or can i apply on my own thanks for both your time ty

I'm not sure of your status and it seems like you may already be out of the military. If you were not diagnosed while on AD with sleep apnea , I believe you will pay for the machine yourself and it is not service connected. I realize you already have the CPAP machine.

I think we need more info on your status (active duty, etc.), are you already undergoing a MEB, just out of the blue find out you have OSA, etc. If you are already out of the military, Jeep is correct. If you are still in, OSA can often trigger a MEB if it is bad enough and you cannot tolerate the CPAP.

Ok, disregard my last post. After reading your last post, it is obvious that you are non longer in the military. You should contact your VA rep and ask. On another note, people with lung disease (I see you have COPD from another post) often have trouble handling the constant pressure from a CPAP. I'm in the same boat and had to move to a BPAP machine...it applies pressure when you breathe in, and decreases to almost no pressure when you breathe out...much easier to tolerate if you have lung disease.

thank you all for your reply i did the sleep study after i ret in 99 i just now got around after talking to v.a. dr he recommended the cpak which i got free though the v.a. iam 40% now trying to get more as in march this year my v.a. dr said i couldnt work no more i had to quite a great job now times are rough living off E-6 pension i been fighting the v.a. since 99, also comrades for u that are 40% or less there is a bill up in wasington there trying to pass it called h.r.344 retiered payrestoration act 2011 check it out and pass on to others i have nothing to do all day long but keep up with things like this.
