Looking over my proposed VA paperwork there is a section titled Entitlement to (SMC) based on anatomical loss with aid and attendance. The breakdown includes the SMC for my hysterectomy which I know from discussions in here will be SMC (k).

It also includes Entitled to SMC is proposed on account of your Meniere's Syndrome rated at 100% with additional service-connected disabilities independently ratable at 60 percent or more.

What is the SMC for that one?

Most likely that would be SMC S I received the same thing with the same wording. Hope this helps.

Indeed, Special Monthly Compensation (SMC) is paid in addition to the regular VA Disability Compensation to a veteran who, as a result of military service, incurred the loss or loss of use of specific organs or extremities. As such, loss, or loss of use, is described as either an amputation or having no effective remaining function of an extremity or organ. Therefore, the SMC-K rate of $103.23 is added to any VA percentage from 0% through 100% due to the anatomical loss (or loss of use) of a specific body part or creative organ(s) used for reproduction.

In my opinion, it seems that you are entitled to receive the SMC-S award for VA disability compensation as based upon meeting all of the following criteria:
  • You have a service-connected disability rated at 100%
  • You have a qualifying, additional service-connected disability (or disabilities) that is completely separate from the first disability and is independently rated at 60%
  • You are approved for VA disability compensation
With that all said, please take care, continue to get well and enjoy your military disability retirement via placement onto the DoD PDRL to include your DoVA SMC compensation benefits! :)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
