does anyone know on average once on the social security website states pending final decision about how long does it take to render the final decision?

my case was filed in feb. I was approved in may and received my first payment around june 28. so I was 4 months from start to finish. approved on initial application. I don't think there is an average everybody is different. I was lucky I guess. I been reading everything I could find and there are no set time lines. once I go the notice i was "medically approved, we are reviewing the non-medical requirements" at that point it was about a month. i got a call from SSA telling me i was approved. the first payment came a week later the letter came 2 weeks later.

Average is 3-4 months from application submission to approve/denial, but obviously it's case by case. Also it is some ridiculous percentage of initial denials (roughly 80%) and reconsideration is even higher. All I mean is, if you get denied keep trying and you'll get it eventually if you rate it.

Mine was about 3 weeks from submission to approval.

I'm assuming you have one of the ailments that are an automatic approval. I'm glad they do that and don't make everyone wait so long.

My approval took about 79 days. No lawyer, no appeal and no exam for paranoid schizophrenia but I didn't get any back pay. They made me wait five months before collecting benefits.

I had already been sick for six years but I went from job to job working up until the time I applied.
