Is it possible to go from TDRL TO PDRL when I get my final ratings? My retirement date is 26 July 2013. I'm assuming I should get my final ratings, what 3-4 months later? And what about money? DFAS is telling me that I won't see any pay until September, that's rediculous! I have payments to make, can't work, I feel as though I have been used up, and tossed out with the trash. Any suggestions?

No, final (official) ratings have nothing to do with TDRL or PDRL.

Yes, you should get your retirement on 1 Sept if you haven't gotten your VA by then. That's only a month.

Are you going to file for unemployment?

I cant get unemployment because I get SSA disability already, but that isn't enough for me and my family of 4 to live off of. Not to mention I have car, rent, utilities, other bills, they aren't going to care about my situation either, they just are going to want their money.

Do you have any in savings? Could you guys live with family until you get on your feet with the income? You'll be able to get out of any lease since you are separating.

No family is willing to help. I can get out of the lease, but, I don't know how I would get everything moved out or where we would even go.

As a retiree you can use many of the same resources as an active duty service member. I would go see the Fleet and Family Support Center on base.

I'm Army. Do you mean that I should be able to get an AER LOAN?

Well, since you are being retired, you can have the Army move you or do a DITY. As far as where you would go...idk other than someplace maybe cheaper than your current lease.

You haven't been fully informed about the whole thing, I am going to lighten your stress load in a major way.
1) Any SM that is retired or seperated under MEB/PEB they are authorized 1 ETS move. Either full move or Partial DITY.
2) If a SM retires, the SM can choose to move at any time with-in a 1 year period. They don't tell you that all you have to do is go to Transportation and delay your move for up to 5 years, but you must go in once a year before the 1 year mark and delay the move. If you fail to do so, you will loose that move.
3) If you choose to do the full move, you are to be paid PCS travel per deim as rules apply. Though you must have to send in the paperwork to get that money.

I hope this makes your day better! If you need more advice send me a private conversation!
