Timeline questions

Hello all,

I'm currently undergoing a MEB for Bipolar 2, as well as a few other genetic conditions I have.

My last C&P exam will be conducted on March 19th. I had like a month and a half wait between my other exams. I've been trying to expedite this process but it's pretty much hurry up and wait. This forum has helped me understand this process a little better as my PEBLO is really vague.

My main question I suppose is for other service members currently going through this. Realistically when can I expect to begin transition? It's really difficult to plan for a career or school when I have no real timeline. I know each case is different but I'm just wondering what the current tempo is for AFPC and the VA handling these cases. I already have my NARSUM, and my CIS concurring with my separation. My other DBQs are already uploaded on TOL as well.

Good luck to everyone else going through this. It sure is a rollercoaster.

I am undergoing MEB for Bipolar 2 as well. did you have to wait for the Narsum and CIS before they even sent to MEB to be deemed unfit? I was coded 37 over a month ago and was told that is what I am waiting for. Every time I asked my Peblo about it she just tells me its a long process

I was on concare for mental health before they gave me Code 37. My timeline is a little weird as they did the CIS and NARSUM prior to starting the MEB. Good luck to you, I'm seeing in other threads on here that the VA is backlogged till June ish now which is when I was hoping to separate.

Look into a skillbridge to help pass the time!

Funny you should say that I actually just got approved for a really nice remote skill bridge
I’ve pretty much on the same boat as you. Just playing the waiting game. For your skillbridge did your cc have to sign an exemption to policy? I’m currently trying to do a skillbridge as well.

Yup super easy process it’s in AFVEC too. Just needs your supervisor and someone else sign it(it routes itself)

You mentioned the VA being backlogged, what does is mean like delayed? I’m just started the MEB process.

Yes delayed once you get to the portion of MEB where the VA decides your disability ratings. If you just started the process you still have awhile before then. Hopefully they aren't as backed up once you get to that point. Right now its apparently taking upwards of 4 months for the VA to review your case.

Quick question do I need a diagnosis and nexus for a condition to get a %? I still have a little time before I submit to VA and wanna have everything right

I think a diagnosis helps but what you definitely need is evidence in your medical records documenting the issue even if there's not a firm diagnosis.
