Timeline

Couple weeks ago I found out my decision letter was sent out but still waiting to hear back on the VA findings.
Have you checked va.gov? There is now an option to view decision letters in there.

I have, It mentions it exists but when I click on it to view there is no information. It also mentions my claim is closed etc

Thanks, still waiting to hear from my PEBLO about my proposed ratings. From what I recall, after completing your C&P exams with the VA or medical contractors, the results will be sent back to the VA. While that is happening, your PEBLO waits for the results from those exams in order to generate your MEB package and sends that to the PEB. I do believe that the VA starts working on your claim when they've been notified of an unfit finding from the PEB. Hope this helps and good luck on your timeline!
Thanks, any clue what the VA backlog is seems like the timelines that are being posted have been getting slightly shorter recently in terms of time with the VA and PEB.

Don't trust the VA website to be correct until after you have left service. It is routinely and regularly Incorrect and not properly updated for members who are still in an active service status.

The USN/USMC backlog is getting shorter, yes. Last I saw, they were advertising that the backlog would be clear by the end of july.

My case (docs) is getting sent to PEB tomorrow, I guess this is a great time for my case to be sent rather than a year ago. Hopefully I can be out by thanksgiving!

Figured I'd post my timeline, seems like the whole process just depends on claims, branch of service, and regional VA offices.

Called the VA May 1 and asked for a claim update, I was told it was in the decision phase. I contacted my PEBLO yesterday, he said VA the is done with it and its with QA. I'll post any updates.
Are you active or reserve? Other than the VA appointments, what other appointments does the board have you got to? I just got my p3 profile june 2nd, and they are putting me through a Non duty PEB. I feel so stressed, I'll have 16 years in by December. I was told the worst possible outcome is I get discharged with no retirement benefits or servive connections.

Please beware of assuming too much that your case being at the VA means that the PEB has found you unfit. Logically, the system should flow based on necessity to have the conditions rated; otherwise, raters would be forever rating disabilities attached to cases wherein the member is found fit - a total waste of time if the result is then accepted. However, in the past 2 years I've had clients tell me that their PEBLOs have seen the member's overall disability rating long BEFORE the IPEB decision came. I was so skeptical of this (why would the raters waste time rating disabilities for members who may be found fit?) I asked for the PEBLO's screen shot to confirm. I was sent a confirmation screen shot; I was amazed. I will not speculate as to why the VA did what it did, as I could posit multiple scenarios why. Still, in my experience, in at least one case the member was found fit. Of course, knowing in which phase your case stands is great, but until your PEBLO delivers the IPEB decision to you, be careful about reading too much into administrative tealeaves. There are simply too many factors involved to put you on sound footing.

I'm active duty. I haven't had any other appts besides the C&P medical exams. I don't have much knowledge on the separation process without retirement or service benefits but I'd like to think that your PEBLO will be very helpful in your situation. At least with the non-duty PEB process and possible outcomes.

My VA claim closed on May 18 and there isn't a letter available on myVA. I called the VA hotline and they confirmed that my proposed ratings were done as of May 18. They weren't able to discuss it with me or email me a letter. I contacted my PEBLO last week and he said he's waiting to receive findings from the PEB and will keep me updated. I'll post any updates.

Pretty much the same boat here. I asked my PEBLO and they said that i guess it goes back to the PEB to combine the DOD side of things and should take an estimated 2-3 weeks
fingers crossed

So I just checked VA website and I have a claim that was closed on May 24th. I will likely wait another week before I question my PEBLO

Update: Received findings May 7th.

Does anyone know what the process is for receiving an EAS date after signing for findings? I've seen previous forums stating it will automatically reflect on MOL/BIR but I also feel like thats too good to be true without having to do any additional paperwork? Correct me if I'm wrong or please advise. Thanks.

What was the VARR process like? I am considering doing on due to the VA findings not making complete sense for my situation
My lawyer took till the last minute to file it. Completed in a week, still waiting to hear back results. Today was day 14

@astro1215 I'm an attorney who's filed hundreds of VARR's (as a Marine JAG & a Fed employee) and I'll say this: although sometimes lengthy, the VARR process is very straight forward - draft the VARR, submit to PEB, PEB sends to rating facility, raters rate and send back to PEB . . . . The process, however, isn't what makes VARR's potentially dangerous. It's understanding how the ratings can be combined, split, or even changed that can positively and/or negatively affect your case. And that's just on the VA side. Once the DoD receives your new ratings, there are similar issues - not identical, as the DoD doesn't perform ratings for the Active Duty - that can derail your case. Many people think that the VA is somehow locked into the VA diagnostic code or that the VA must choose one code or another; this is simply untrue. Because medical practitioners can have differing opinions and raters can interpret documentation differently, there is uncertainty that must be understood before filing a VARR. If you're considering a VARR, you should speak to a qualified attorney. To address any timing concerns: reviewing and rating VARR's can be a walk in the park or insanely daunting - it all depends on the facts of each VARR.
