Congrats!!! Keep a look out for that new EAS on your BIR tab and start getting your ducks in a row. Mine took me by surprise I signed my findings 1/14 and got my new EAS on 1/27 for 2/15. I am scrambling for whatever PTAD my base IPAC will let me take with such a short notice while my CO keeps rescheduling my EAS interview lol

Thanks for this! I signed on 1/16 and just keep wondering when my eas will change.

Question, how long did it take for a claim to open on the VA website or app? I signed NARSUM 2 weeks ago and I don’t show any pending claims in the app

You won't see anything on va app until it closes. I couldn't get anything to move faster and I spent those two months I waited stressing out. Find your happy place and camp out there until it's over

Has anyone on here moved back with doing the dity move? I'm reading a bunch of stuff about the new contract sucks and people's stuff are getting lost or stolen. My past pcss'have had no issue with the moving company. I'm just curious if anyone has had issues with the new company

Moving companies contracted through DOD are hit or miss. I would say you’re the lucky few that has had no issues.

My first PCS involving a move was Norfolk to Lemoore after commissioning. Used movers and it was a terrible experience. Lost items, 2 month delay in getting things, and the seemingly terrible nightmare of trying to get them to make it right. I only used Dity moves after that. Still used movers but hired my own that I vetted. Used PODs one time as well.

I have two folks who just moved out to California from different states with the new company and both reported subpar performance, damaged items, and poor communication.

I hope these short notice eas don't affect the company's either. I'm assuming I'll be out march 31st based upon prior timelines im reading

Its going to suck either way because if we want to do a dity move, we can't do it without orders. If you want to set up a HHG move, can't do it without orders lol. (at least navy). Me personally, my claim closed on the 24th so I am waiting for CP to call so I can sign findings. I plan on using u-pack's trailer (28ft trailer you load and they haul). I scheduled it for 1 April and upack is pretty understanding and is allowing to slide it left or right as I need to. Man I don't want to pay for it out of pocket, but its the move that will hurt the least (quoted at $10k for a move to Virginia) if the paperwork isn't churned out fast enough.

Yeah I hope in the future they make this process more transparent so future personnel don't have to do everything such short notice. I'm pretty lucky and the unit I'm at let me check out outside of security manager and s1.

Ditto. Boss was pretty understanding when I explained the terrible timeline with no information or estimates on dates. He handed me the check out sheet himself, lol.

These are the installations currently using the new contractor, Homesafe Alliance: USTRANSCOM Global Household Goods Contract | Military OneSource

Thankfully mine is still using the legacy system and my local office said they are booking pickups 14 days out, so I will be going with the contracted move as soon as I get orders.
