TIMELINES

My VA claim was marked as closed on February 24th, but I didn’t receive my second MyFSS email until March 17th. Initially, this was disappointing, as I saw others receiving their emails much sooner. I contacted my MSC last week to inquire, and he informed me that although my case was closed in February, the VA didn’t send it to AFPC until March 12th.

If you are experiencing delays, I recommend reaching out to your MSC, as the VA website may not provide accurate information. In terms of the timeline, the VA sent the documentation on March 12th, I received my MyFSS email on March 17th, and I received my ratings on March 18th, which I signed today. In hindsight, this is actually a quick turnaround.

My advice: Once your claim status shows as closed, contact your MSC to confirm whether the VA has sent the information to AFPC. For reference, I received a 30% DoD rating and a 100% VA rating. I was also informed that my orders will be issued within 2 days to 4 weeks.

yeah I've been waiting (impatiently) on orders. I signed my 1180 on Thursday and thought I would be one of the lucky ones that gets orders within a couple days haha

2 days to 4 weeks is such a broad timeline lol. I was told to expect them within the week or up to 3 weeks. These timelines are terrible, just like every other timeline in the MEB process.

I did find something interesting though. The same day I signed for my ratings, I could see a myFSS case open. However, the case is now hidden from me and nothing is showing up under closed. I wonder what they else they need to do on their end besides send the package for retirement orders. I tried calling AFPC to see if they knew when I could expect my orders, but was told that they cannot look at my case due to HIPPA. Maybe the Disability Operations Branch generates the order?

That’s what I was thinking haha. Hopefully I get them sometime next week. I have to finish my TAPS anyway next week. When did you sign your ratings again? I think the disability branch does it if I’m not mistaken

I thankfully finished my TAP class before going into Skillbridge. And I signed for my ratings on 20 March, but I don't think AFPC actually looked at my case until the day after. It seems like the disability branch does indeed create and process the orders according to the regulation. I'm hoping it comes sometime next week so that I can book my tickets home

I signed mine on the 18th and no luck with retirement date or orders.

Ye my peblo said most likely I'll get them by this Friday so hopefully we both do, I signed my 1180 on the 24th so
I signed mine on the 24th as well and got my orders today!
