V.a. healthcare vs tricare post service

Hello,

Just trying to get some perspective on the v.a. healthcare vs tricare post service. I will be medically retiring in 3 weeks and am wondering the pros and cons of each and what might suite me best. I am 40 dod 100 v.a. I will be enrolling my wife in tricare after I'm out but am wondering do I enroll myself and continue through tricare or work with the v.a. instead

You can choose between TRICARE and the VA. I retired 30 years ago and use the VA only for glasses and dental (I am 100% P&T).

I had a regular retirement.
