VA findings Timeline

Hey all - Got my unfit memo from my peblo on 13 SEP 16. Checked my e-benefits and there has been no change to my original claim, no historical claim has opened etc.

What is the general rule of thumb for timelines at this point for me? Thanks in advanced.

When did your package get accepted by the PEB in DC? My Peblo said to expect something like 45 days from Unfit to ratings but I don't know if that is correct right now or not. My ebenfits stuff has never changed the whole time I've been in the process. Waiting for IPEB decision now.

My Package was sent about a week before yours to the VA and still waiting. If you look at others time lines its usually an average of 2 month turn around from this point till ratings are issued and ready to be signed for. So I am hoping I picking a separation date by nov. Got job interviews coming up and would be nice to tell them when I can start.

To me, this is the most difficult part about getting out of the service in this manner. When one retires or separates, they know well in advance, can plan Terminal LV dates, etc.

My PEB pkg (2nd one--last year came back FIT) was just mailed off two weeks ago, and this go around, it does not look nearly as favorable to stay in as it did last year--basically, my NMA went from "does his job great" last year to "I think it's best for all involved to separate member."

Anyway, back on topic...Not knowing when the VA results will come out is concerning; most UNFIT are ready to leave and start their new lives, and let's face it, having a disability in many cases limits what types of jobs we can do, which makes it hard enough to find the right fit, as well. So after results come out, you get, what amounts to, a month or two to get everything squared away before starting Terminal LV/Job Hunting TAD. Compare that to a Voluntary Retirement situation that can be planned up to a year out, can be frustrating.
