VA has had my package since 20140212

Its possible that your ratings are complete and your awaiting your 199, that maybe why the rep came up with the assumption of needing your DD214(which is needed after rating are proposed and 199 is signed in order for final ratings to be completed post separation/retirement)
Thanks Jason,
I agree. This whole thing doesn't make sense. I am still waiting on my findings, if I understand the process the VA would not get my DD214 until after i am out (1) and after I have gotten my findings (2). I did however follow up with Said PEBLO and she didn't know anything about this. then a couple seconds I guess the light turned on and she told me they don't get it until after.
As Combat Eng was pointing out, mountainhippie check ebennies and see if you have a "closed" claim and a new opened one with the beginning date if the last 4 months, if this is true the PEB is awaiting the ratings from the VA and you are waiting on the 199.

This is all that is there.

I guess we just wait. Not a big deal as none of us can speed up time.

This is quite common my went all the way from Review of Evidence to Pending decision within an hour. I think you said previously your package was at Providence, the good thing is they are moving quicker than most everyone else, the downside is that there is no way of telling if yours will be one of the 23% that go over the 125 day mark. You can google Monday morning report VA and look at the metrics for the different processing centers, it'll give you overall numbers and averages for processing. I did this but since mine was one of the packages that took longer it just drove me crazy. Good luck and I hope yours comes back sooner than later.

Update here....
After doing some research I found that the VA has actually had my package in the review of evidence phase since 20131216.

True story my friend! To be honest here, Worrying about something that I can not control is futile. In good time I will be signing my 199! Until then I am going to enjoy my time not working for the Marines ( as my SgtMaj is a badass war pig and told me to he didn't want to see me until I check out) staying home with the kids and making up for the last decade + of not being home. How is your shit progressing gsfowler? Hope you hear something soon!
-mountainhippie.... Out!

Just got a Phone call from my MSO.... She called to inform me that my case has been suspended. I asked why, her reply "I'm not really sure to be honest". I hung up on her. called my PEBLO she looked in the system to find that she was reading a note from sept. It was briefly suspended then because i had to have another surgery. WTF! Then the PEBLO said sorry this was the MSO's first week on the job. she added that my case has not been suspended.
Hippie out!

Just an update here for all you secret motivators...
PEBLO called me to inform me that as of yesterday my package has been assigned to a rating officer. She said I should be getting a phone call the end of this week or next with my proposed ratings. She added that it has taken 153 days at the VA thus far because of the 19 claimed conditions I have. Hope to hear some good news by next week.

What does it mean when my case has been assigned to a rating officer (as of last Monday)? does that mean the review of evidence phase is done?

It means that the ratings officer still needs to review and approve the rating assigned. It's the last portion of the "review of evidence phase."

Right on thanks man. That is what I figured. Hopefully I hear back something this week... How long did yours take at this point? Who are you with at Pendleton?

Once mine went to the VA officer it took about a week for it to go to pending decision approval on eBenefits. Called the PEBLO that next monday and got the percentages. Just got the call right now that my findings are in. I am actually on recruiting up in Reno, NV. My case has been going through Balboa since my main command is under the district down at MCRD.

Question.... Is it possible that because of all the scandal in the news with the VA is not moving very quickly? Im at 160 days that the VA has had my package...

Anything is possible, but....there is always a Congressman?

Im not really sure I want to go down that road just yet. As soon as I do that my command is now involved. I have a few (19) claimed conditions 7 of which are combat related so I understand it takes time.

I doubt it, 160 is still close to the average

Very true on both parts. 160 days is technically considered average by their standards. Also 19 conditions and 7 being combat related could be a factor. I had well over 25 total conditions. 11 of which were actually rated 10% or more. My entire process up to this point has taken about 5 months and I'm probably about a month or so away from my EAS. I just signed my paperwork and sent it back, but with the holiday weekend who knows how long it takes to get me a new EAS.

I don't know how long you have dealt with your issues, but I know that I have had 3 surgeries over the past 6 years for my condition that sparked the fire in my case so I don't know how much that weighs in the complexity of my case vs. others such as yourself.

Either way, I ended up emailing my congressman and never received a response, but about a week after I submitted the information my package was moving and roughly 2 weeks after that I had findings in hand.

Obviously, every case is different and you don't want to go starting fires for no reason. I am out in the middle of nowhere though on recruiting and I was told a long time ago that no one cares more about your career than you, so take responsibility and control of what happens because at the end of the day the only person you can blame is yourself.

Just my 2 cents on it and what I did. Not saying it's right or wrong...just another opinion.

All I can say is that the VA is now at 170 something days..... not really sure what I can do if anything. Loosing faith here for sure. Any advice?
