Hello all,

I was medically retired on March 30th. I'm under contract on a house and my lender is having issues with pre apporval/approval because my claim isn't technically closed and is on the pending final review step. Any idea how long it takes for this to be over?

I also can't even see this claim at all in the va app, only that my propsed rating have been closed.

Also will I recieve any of the military side retirenment pay if my va case doesn't close?

My wife's VA award letter came in 6 weeks after she was medically retired.

My timeline was similar to @Provis wife.

I feel like I kinda jumped the gun with a home loan then. The housing loan people with the va said there shouldn't be an issue but now I'm under contract on a house and the lender wants me to wait till I have the award letter to continue with house inspection and all that nonsense. I also can't see this claim in the va app, is that normal?

Also I just thought of something. If my va stuff doesn't close by April will I recieve retirenment pay from dfas?

Pretty long wait on the retirement check since its paid in arrears. Yeah would have been better to wait to make an offer on a house a month or 2 after medically retiring than trying to do it so soon.
