VA rated back to peb

zachtorg,

I must be right behind you in the process... The VA just finished my proposed ratings on 03 APR 12, they received them on 19 MAR 12, and sent them back to DC. Hopefully, I hear something back from PEB soon.

depends if your on the IDES (shorter time) or the Legacy (very lond time) MEB system... and yes it varies, there is no set timeline since every case is different
Can we request one or the other? I might be facing med board soon, and I'd rather have the "shorter time" if that's a possibility.

No one can really give you an exact time frame since every case is so unique. Mine has been going on now for a year and I am IDES with only 1 unfit condition! Prepare yourself for a year.

Jessica D. the more claims you make and the more difficult they are, it takes a bit more time to come up with ratings and more appointments... By any means DO NOT deny filing a bunch of claims now, it may take alot of red tape to get your claims posted and evaluated after you seperate if you have a bunch of them...

was told proposed rating complete 22 march? Anyone know how much longer
My PEBLO called about this on Monday. The AF FEB said that once they recieve the ratings back, if they agree then it would be 2-3 weeks before the base would receive the package. Basically they have to get the paperwork togeather, and the VA does too, before it can be released to you. Hope that helps:)

I'm in the beginning of my MEB process and fall under IDES. I was told this speeds the process up. Has anyone else fallen under IDES? If so, how long?

iam USN, va rcieved claim feb 8. proposed rating done 16mar. 26mar dc recived. 2Apr recieved my finding from peblo

So, if I'm understanding things correctly, I need to submit me VA claims at the same time my med board is going through? I'm not in that big of a hurry, really.

I am active duty Army and assigned to a Recruiting BN. I was told that with this IDES system that they co-located my DOD/VA at Fort Knox. I was also told that since they have done that it could only take 45-90 days. It may be different depending on your situation and location. I just got my P3, so I'm just beginning the process as well

Jessica D. the IDES system that we are on does the VA claim at the same time as the Army, it will all be automatically done! You should be meeting your VA rep very soon if you haven't already met them. They will call you up for a couseling session and then will go over all of your claims since the Army won't cover them under their part of the MEB (the Army only goes over on single claim). They will then make all your required appointments and then the Army will write your NARSUM and so forth...

if peb agrees with the va you should hear from them soon, try calling the dc medboards and ask them about the status on your case 202-685-6419

Thank you so much Zachtorg for posting this number. I was able to call and find out that my package was sent to the VA rating board on 16 March, thus meaning I have been found unfit! Thank you so much, it gives my wife and I peace of mind to know we'll be able to move on with our lives very soon.

How long did it take for you to get orders? Did you get a retirement or separation? Thanks!

I also used this number and they said my package was sent to the VA April 3rd! Is that definitely an unfit then?

Marducci I think if the VA has the packet it must be unfit cause they do the ratings for that. Im not 100% but pretty sure about it. Good Luck! Is that number an automated system or do you actually speak to a person?

It was a very nice lady who, I am reasonably sure, was not a robot. I sent my PEBLO an email asking if I can reasonably assume I've been found unfit since the va has a preliminary rating and she said yes. Awesome. Hope it helps you!

VA sent my packet back to the PEB March, 9 2012, the packet arrived for me to sign April, 18, 2012. 6 weeks.
