You should probably have your ratings if you know you were found unfit. Call the VA and ask for your proposed rating letter to be emailed to you. Chances are they aren’t going to mail it. That’s exactly what I had to do.Does anyone know how long the VA takes on rating an IDES claim. Ive been unfit since 08/24 and I'm still in the “decision phase” of my rating.
Fit vs Unfit is decided by DOD during your PEB. Then, after being found unfit, your case is forwarded to the VA for ratings. I was found unfit July 13th, VA started the case Aug 1, ratings were completed by Aug 30th. Still waiting on ratings from DOD on Form 199.I called the VA but they said my claim is still in the decision phase. Im just surprised that my claim is taking this long when i got unfit in august 24
Have you received any updated from the PEB? My case closed on va.gov yesterday and curious how long the Army is taking to finish their ratings.Fit vs Unfit is decided by DOD during your PEB. No, and here's my understanding of the PEB after speaking to my JAG Officer, though I could be wrong. PEB is local to an active duty base, so each base might have different timelines. After researching a bunch of cases on this forum from different bases it looks like 20 - 30 days after your case closes at VA the PEB will have your preliminary ratings on a 199. I still haven't seen mine yet and it's been in the "Awaiting final signature from PEB" phase for at least a week now.Have you received any updated from the PEB? Ok thanks. I am under the impression that the Army PEB is consolidated and done at one location (PDA in San Antonio) for all Army IDES Soldiers. No, and here's my understanding of the PEB after speaking to my JAG Officer, though I could be wrong.
