VA timeline question

I applied for VA compensation on February last year, I sent my DD214 last Friday 04/05/2013 to VA (Seattle RO)and my last day in army is 06/10/2013.
When my case will be finalized and I will get paid by VA?
Also I applied for car grant on March, How long does take to get decision from VA?
 
I retired on January 28th, and just received my finalized ratings a few days ago. Even with that, I have 2 deferred conditions (small ones) that won't allow full finalization of the ratings (and the pay) until I submit particular evidence they requested (mailed it off today certified). So, had I not needed to send that data, I would've probably started getting paid at the end of this month/beginning of next- so, long story even longer- figure 2-3 months after you retire to start receiving VA pay.
As for the grant, I applied for a SHA grant a couple of weeks ago, and in Ebenefits states to expect my claim to close (be decided) by July-September (I know, pretty big window there).
Just my experiences, YMMV.

I retired Dec 28th, 2012 and still have not received finalized ratings from the VA. So I'd be prepared for a lengthy wait just in case you are like me and it takes more than 4 months to get finalized ratings and pay to start.
 
I got a call from the VARO this morning. I should have my letter in a week. Good luck everyone..
