Note: Extremely unfavorable ankylosis will be rated as loss of use of hands under diagnostic code 5125.

5215 Wrist, limitation of motion of:

Dorsiflexion less than 15º...................................................... 10.......... 10
Palmar flexion limited in line with forearm............................... 10.......... 10

I know about the wrist, the Army and VA low balled me in this.

How do they designate ulnar and radial deviation? Unlike the shoulder or elbow where it talks about "last quarter of the arch" I don't see any specifics. I was given code 5024 and I know that code 5214 is more accurate. I have full feeling but I have severly limited ulnar and radial deviation ROM. It doesn't spell out the measurement for this. Mine is 5 degrees in both directions. Any advice? I need to return my IPEB decision this week!

Here are the normal measurements:

i. Wrist dorsiflexion (extension) = zero to 70 degrees.
j. Wrist palmar flexion = zero to 80 degrees.
k. Wrist radial deviation = zero to 20 degrees.
l. Wrist ulnar deviation = zero to 45 degrees.
