Wait Time For Providence, RI

Hey folks I received my IDES findings today. The DOD rated me: 50% PDRL, and the VA : 70%.

I am content with the ratings and I am ready to move on with my life. I want to thank everyone here who has contributed and who has taken the time to help me and everyone else during this stressful process. Thank you.

My approximate timeline looks something like this:

Sept 2013: IDES Medboard initiated, VA appt's scheduled, etc.
Nov 20 2013 : Signed NARSUM
Early Dec 2013: Fount Unfit by PEB
Early Dec 2013: Providence RO receives IDES packet from PEB
Feb 04, 2014: Ebenefits changes to Pending decision approval (still currently there lol )
Feb 13, 2014: My VSO informed me my claim was complete Feb 11, 2013
March 7, 2014: PEBLO calls me to review findings

Indeed, wow! Congratulations on the receipt of your DoD PDRL and DoVA proposed ratings! :)

To that extent, now it's time to start enjoying life again for sure! :D

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

So, apparently y'all are good luck... my ebennies changed to pending decision approval today!!

I hope so. I have seen your support to others and it seems like it is your time. I am trying not to get too excited, it is the VA after all. If I hear anything more, I will let y'all know.

Nice to see everyone moving along, and some wrapped up, thats a great thing. I turned in my acceptance on Monday and am just waiting orders now. Requested 28 May as first day of retirement and April 7th as start of terminal, may not happen if orders do not get here in time, but I'll be taking leave and then coming back to out process if it takes too long. I am done son.

You and me both. I am hoping I don't have to fight for my ratings, however I am prepared to fight. Glad you are ready and able to pop smoke :)

So, question. If I don't end up with 100%, how do I file for permanant and total through the VA? Has anyone fought that battle and won?

OK, you will need to submit a DoVA Claim for Increased Disability which is an increased evaluation of a disability that VA has already determined to be service-connected.

As such, reference the below VA Form 21-8940 "Veteran's Application For Increased Compensation Based On Unemployability" for specific detailed instructions.

Moreover, the VA Form 21-8940 states that "this is a claim for compensation benefits based on unemployability. When you complete this form you are claiming total disability because of a service-connected disability(ies) which has/have prevented you from securing or following any substantially gainful occupation."

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

I was found unfit on Jan 11, 2014. VA received my claim Jan 16, 2014.

Our claims seem to be along the same timelines. I think I was found unfit around the early part of Jan. My ebennies changed to Pending Decision approval 28 Feb. Hopefully we will both hear something soon. I'm just grateful that my claim didn't take as long as some of the other folks on this forum...

Cjfred, once you the VA has switched your ebenefits to Pending Decision Approval it is a matter of weeks. Mine took about three weeks, but a lot of others got theirs back faster. So basically any day know you should know your findings.

Believe me we are all in the same boat about this process being insane and very frustration. You can see my time frame below to give you an idea, again everyone's is different and there seems to be no real set way just luck of the draw I guess. Either way stay strong and bitch and complain all you want on here that's what this is here for.

Now in regards to your claiming conditions, A. you don't have to tell us what you claimed at all that is your personal stuff. B. Never be embarrassed by what you have claimed and what you get for those disabilities. No one knows but you how they effect you personally and you should never be embarrassed by them. Just remember in this process you need to look out for your self because if you don't no one will. You earned your right.

Locke- Congrats buddy the end is near the end is near. I am in the same boat now, I signed by papers and I am just waiting for my EAS.

Thank you. I am glad your process is done, for now. I am just glad I found information. It is hard to find good information sometimes.

Congrats to alll, Unfortunately still no movement on my end, I havent neccasarily given up hope on the process, but it sure is pushing me to mylimits. When I get my ratings back I want the ability to submit a rating reconsideration if needed, but I do not know if I will have the energy left to fight any longer. I am over 200 days in the total IDES process, this go around (but have been in the system for over 18 months now due to surgery and infections) and over 125 days at the VA waiting for my ratings. My Peblo and MSC keep telling me any day now, but I have heard that for over a month now, so I will belive it when I see it.

Ebennies...

I already signed my DA 199 and Ebennies still says Pending Decision Approval. :)

Has anyone contacted your Congressional representatives?
Signed up for WWP-Alumni?
Try those two. They will both dig and push. Basically doing to the jobs of the others that say they will help you.
Ebennies sucks Dont put any faith into that waste of tax payer money. I cannot see how anyone can make excuses for the people behind the curtain of the IDES system. IT SUCKS!!!

Well my ebenefits finally updated to Review of Evidence after being stuck in Gathering of Evidence for months. Below is what it says on my ebenefits. My question is how long will it take to get to the next phase? And at the bottom it says request for DD214 but I'm still a AGR so dont have one of those yet. Also says scheduling for QTC appointment but I've been to them already. So is it just a progress chart showing where they are because it has a close date of 03/11/2014.

I have a question for those of you who have moved forward in this whole process. Since it seems AFPC like the 28th of the month for retirement/seperation date, do you still get your 2.5 days of leave for that month?

I have a question for those of you who have moved forward in this whole process. Since it seems AFPC like the 28th of the month for retirement/seperation date, do you still get your 2.5 days of leave for that month?

the DoD guidelines state within the last 3 days of the month, typically they just use the 28th, but I chose the 27th, with 28th being first day of retirement. and yes you continue to accumulate leave during that time, not sure if its 2.5 or 2.35 etc. its almost irrelevant because you can final out at 8 am your last day and that doesnt count as leave, so if they do dock you a little, just consider that you got it on the front end :).

I am still waiting for orders, to be certain they accepted everything etc. so we shall see. If orders do not come in the next week, then I will be taking the last week of March off for Elder scrolls launch, then going in and out processing the next week lol. One side of me really wants to use all the leave, the other side wants to sell all the leave cause I like money. but as it is, I cannot take all my leave cause I would of had to outprocess last week.

Ok, for some reason I was thinking it was the last day on active duty(before becoming a civilian), not the last at work. Thanks!!
