Waiting for DA 199

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your da 199 after they finish your ratings?

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

From my experiences within the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process and if I recall accurately, the USAPDA PEB took appropriately 17 calendar days to generate my initial DA Form 199 albeit that was many months ago!

As such, it seems that the current timeline for the USAPDA PEB to generate a DA Form 199 is averaging about 30 days which is not inclusive of external factors beyond their control (e.g., inclement weather and unforeseen circumstances) unfortunately.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Unfortunately, I had to wait 47 calendar days for the official receipt of notification from the military RSO that my TRANSPOC-III message was completed. But, my wait for the TRANSPOC-III message include additional time due to the FPEB hearing rebuttal I submitted which had to be review by and FPEB then forward to HQ USAPDA.

Hopefully, receipt of your TRANSPOC-III message is forthcoming soon to the military RSO as I can't image that the "USAPDA review and SecArmy approval" process would potentially take a longer duration then mine.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Another question off the subject. If you are promotable to the next (enlisted) rank at the time of retirement what rank are you retired at?

For the purpose of calculating disability retirement pay, the military service member's grade is the highest of the following:

- Military service member's current grade
- Highest grade military service member satisfactorily held
- Grade to which the military service member was pending a promotion

As such, if a military service member is placed on TDRL by the PEB, then their retired pay shall be calculated using a minimum of 50% even if their combined rating was less than 50%.
