Waiting on VA Ratings for 4 months

I have been waiting on my VA ratings for 4 months now. I am going through the IDES process. I was found unfit Aug 17 2015. I have seen people get ratings back within 2 or 3 weeks. What could be the hold up with my case? Is there anyone I can contact to get to the bottom of this? The VA and my PEBLO keep giving me the same BS. My PEBLO hasn't responded to my calls or emails that I've sent in the past 3 weeks.

Wow! that's extremely surprising. You might want to talk to the supervisor of your PEBLO, its a courtesy for the PEBLO to respond you. The army case should be moving really fast, I got my ratings within 2 weeks of being found unfit and now just wating to hear back from the VA as I filed for VARR.

Send a very nicely worded email to [email protected] this lady works for the VA Secretary himself... Her title "Action officer" she gets results!! I had a misdiagnosis on my first set of CP exams, I sent her a very polite email with details of the misdiagnosis on a Friday at 1600. Monday morning at 0900, I had a call from Seattle VBA a guy named John called and said: "Hello, My name is John, from the VA, how can I help you?"

I'm NOT kidding, but again be very polite and state the facts. She WILL light a fire under someone's ass... That's literally her job I think.

@shawn488 let me know if she replies with good news etc. and I might have to take this route as well sadly.

All,

Ms. Bevins replied to me bright and early on Monday morning. She forwarded my e-mail to someone else who works in the VA Sec. office. They replied to me on Monday afternoon stating that someone from the VA will contact me directly. My PEBLO contacted me FINALLY contacted me this morning at 8:45 by e-mail. She then called me at 9:30 to tell me why it took 3 weeks to get back to me. I also received another call directly from someone from the Baltimore VA hospital that stated that there were some codes that were wrong in my file so Seattle couldn't see the entire file. She said she personally fixed those and that she talked to the person who had my file currently. She stated "you are on everyone's radar now so things should start to move faster". I am hoping this is the kick in the butt everyone needs to move my file along. I just can't believe it took me going to the Sec. of VA office to find this out. I just wonder how long it would have taken for someone to figure this out if I didn't light a fire under them. Ms. Bevins is definitely worth her weight in gold. I just hope people on the board don't abuse her and e-mail her about every little mishap then she will probably stop helping people who have serious problems with the process.

That is great news! I lit a fire under the PEB's butt yesterday when I had two lead PEBLO's contact them. The worse part is it seems like the small mistakes only get noticed and fixed one by one. Thus far since my 199 was developed it has gone through corrections multiple times which then includes the QA process again. You are right that Ms. Bevins should not be bothered with every little issue as waiting is all part of the IDES process. I am glad to hear they are pushing your stuff faster now as well.

Another update: eBenefits changed to Under Review. Looks like I'm going back in the process but at least someone is looking at my file.

That's wonderful news. You might be receiving your ratings soon. Mine says completed as I have received my ratings but not sure how I can find out if VA is looking my VARR. And I hope they don't change my PDRL to TDRL, the lawyer has assured me that it won't so let's see.

That's great news.... Being back in the radar is awesome. I had a misdiagnosis to get fixed, but once that was done, each and every VA transaction after that was quick and sharp. I got my ratings back in a week after contacting Debi!

I'm hoping some of that one week good luck rubs off on me! I even got an update from my PEBLO today. So someone got a boot put to their rear end. This is most interaction I've had with people in the IDES process in 6 months!

My biggest issue after that was while the VA moved quickly, the PEB kind of yawned... It took 3 weeks for the PEB to take action after the VA results came back in a week.. The PEB unfortunately doesn't work for VA...

Another update: I got a call directly from the supervisor for the raters in Seattle. He told me they were missing two pieces of information to complete my ratings. 1. A clarification from one of the VA docs for my hand exam and an eye test for photophobia. He told me once they get these things back, he could rate my file within a day or two. The next day (this past Friday) the Baltimore VA called me directly and I scheduled the appointment for this Tuesday. I'm hoping by the end of the week my ratings are complete.

My case moved from Gathering of Evidence- Development Letter Sent to Preparation for Decision-Development Letter sent

Update, 30DEC: Talked to the ratings guy in Seattle that was handling my case. He told me that my case is DONE and I should be getting notified by my PEBLO of my ratings by next week. He said my proposed ratings are 20 DOD/90 VA! I was FLOORED with the VA to say the least. I have about 5 more items to claim so I'm very curious as to how close I am to that 100%!

Update, 5JAN16: EBenefits still says Pending Decision approval although my ratings are done from what I have been told. I contacted my PEBLO yesterday and she told me she shows nothing in her system yet. Waiting yet again...

I had a similar experience when the VA told me ratings were complete and the VA had sent them back to the PEB I waited for 3 weeks for the PEB to give them to me and another week for the revised DA 199
