West Point Timeline

Not a problem! Yeah it is better than ebenefits because it updates real time and not lagged like the other. But it is only useful when you have a open case with them, and when not then ebenefits is the best site for everything. Glad I could help pass along good information as I have found and gotten from here also!

Received my NARSUM today and signed all necessary documentation within the hour. My PEBLO said I should hear from them in three months. I hope it doesn't take that long but I suppose we shall see!

Sadly it most likely will. You are looking at 2 to 4 weeks for PEB to say "unfit", then 2 to 6 weeks for VA, and then another 2 to 4 weeks for PEB to do your DA-199. Then after that is done the PDA is taking average 8 weeks right now to process packets for people to start clearing.

I suppose the best I could hope for is to have orders before Christmas. What a terrible time to move. Hah! In fact, my last three PCS's took place either the week before or after Christmas so I suppose it wouldn't make sense for the cycle to break now :) Thanks for the info onve again, Smoke!

Hey everyone,
I am also out of west point but a little further in the process than you all seem to be. I don't have my exact timeline on me but I am currently on the IPEB stage as of 22JUN17. I also had a very quick process once it was initiated.
It took 3 months for the perm profile from January to get a referral in April (I am told it is suppose to happen withint 10 days). Unfortunately the process came to a halt once I hit my current step.

My PEBLO said today "The VA takes about 60 days so they won’t be done until the end of August. The PDA then takes time to do their part- currently they are behind 4 months. If you are looking at a discharge, they will allot you up to 90 days to process out." Looks like it's going to be longer that the original 295 day timeline for Active Duty even with the quick start in the beginning. Anyone else have Ginny for a PEBLO?

Started my briefings today with West Point Peblo Nelly. How was everyone's process dealing with or still dealing with west point for this?

The IDES dashboard updates once every week early on Tuesday mornings. Last I checked, I somehow have already made it through the IPEB and am currently in the VA ratings portion. I was shocked when I saw this because it was such a quick turnaround. I am anxious to look at the dashboard this Tuesday so see if there has been any further movement. Once my profile was initiated it took a while to hear from my PEBLO (who is actually truly amazing and kind) but once the ball started rolling and my C&P exams were posted from the VA I feel like it's been going very well. My experience has truly been better than expected so far. I have spoken with Nelly several times on the phone, although she is not my PEBLO, and she seems really sweet. I don't know too much about Ginny but my PEBLO has been great. Last I spoke to my PEBLO she said that I should hear from her in about three months (this was about 1/2 a month ago). I believe what she meant by that was that I should get the results from the VA and IPEB at that time. I'm way ahead of schedule. I had around 18 claimed conditions and 5 of them turned out to be unfit. I suspect that this part of the process will likely take the longest.

Damn your timeline moved fast. We finished the IPEB at the same time. I just finished the VA Ratings stage last week. Hopefully the rest of mine moves that fast.

Quick update,

The PEB found me unfit for duty on the 21st of July and it went to VA ratings that same day. It took 33 days for the IPEB to do their thing although the PEBLO said that the Army took forever to do so and she had to cal because it was on limbo.

Hey rj - I'm happy to hear that the PEB finally determined your fitness for duty. I'm glad your PEBLO took initiative to figure out what was going on.

As for me, my status on vets.gov now states that their decision has been made and they mailed me their proposed percentages. Of course, I do not actually anticipate receiving this letter. It was probably sent to my PEBLO or directly to the PEB. I'll assume that this means that the VA ratings portion is complete although my IDES dashboard doesn't update until overnight tonight.

This entire process is anxiety provoking and the people I work with are starting to become irritated by my constant fatigue and migraines. Working with irritable people certainly does not help my mental state.

To be honest, I stopped looking at the Vets.gov status since it barely does anything for me until I leave the service. I email my PEBLO bi-weekly just to keep tabs and it seems to be working.

I saw today that I am on the PEB Findings portion. Day 7 out of 12 with a total of 100 days since the very beginning. Hopefully once they send me my 199, it will continue to be as fast as it has been to get my orders.

Another update:

I got my ratings today:
50% Army
80% VA

50% PTSD
50% Flat Foot / Plantar Fasciitis
10% Scars
10% Lower Back Pain
10% Bronchitis
10% Narcolepsy
With a bunch of 0%'s

Will be signing my 199 tomorrow and hopefully it takes less than 45 days for me to get my orders as this whole process has been moving SUPER FAST for me.

Indeed, congratulations on the receipt of your IPEB findings. :D Take care and enjoy your military disability retirement!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!

@rjcruz Awesome news. We're only a few days apart, in fact we finished our exams the same day. I'm at Bragg, but hopefully I catch up to you! Cheers!
