I'm AD AF with almost 11 years in...Currently on MEB for not being deployable...(Dx with AS in 09...taking HUMIRA since Apr 2010)...Besides that...My wife just passed away unexpectedly in Dec of 2010...she was only 32...I know for a fact i'll never be same ever again...each day is getting rougher...gonna start seeing mental health real soon...while I know my issue is not combat related...is it PTSD worthy...Please advise...im stressed...

I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. Hang in there, it does get better. Time does heal all wounds, eventually.

Don't be afraid about going to see mental health. They're there to help and in my opinion, it is worthy, but then again, I'm not a doc. Don't wait to get in to see them, go in for a sick call with them or let them know you need to get in to see them immediately.

I have been living with PTSD for years. Although mine is combat-related, I can tell you that pain is pain, and you should definitely seek help. They can tell you what it is, it may be depression, which shares many of the same symptoms of PTSD. Whether they rate you or not, it won't go away on it's own. I wish you the best.

Appreciate the quick response sir...I'm just about 90 something percent sure im done...not saying im worthy of 70%-100% like those that have seen combat (I like to call them my heroes) but this is somethng that will affect me for the rest of my life...thanks again.

prayers for you...many of them.

You break a leg, you get a cast. You have diabetes, you take insulin. Regardless of short term or forever, take care of yourself. You deserve happiness. Yes, you do.

Don't put off healing. Guaranteed, some more hurting, but the healing part and coming around the bend of getting well is worth it.

Be well.
