Where am I in the process

Well, the DOD came back with 20%, so severance. I just don't know if I want to accept it or appeal. The only reason I would accept is because I am beyond ready to be done and move forward. My reasons to appeal are:

1. The VA rated me under Code 5201 "Limitation of Motion" even though my NARSUM states that I have Adhesive Capsulitis (Frozen Joint) so I think it should have been rated under Code 5200 which would have made it 30% instead of 20%.
2. I have nerve damage in my shoulder and experience frequent numbness from my first surgery. The VA rated 20% alone for radioculopathy, but the DOD didn't add this to my range of motion rating.

I kind of just want to be done and move on with my life though.

Don't give up, make sure you get what you deserve. I personally would be happy with the severance as my husband has all of us on his insurance, but the insurance ALONE will more than outweigh your severance pay over the next few years if you don't have another insurance lined up. Your reason to just let it go is temporary, but your reason to fight it will make a huge difference in the long run.

so I was told once you sign your papers it takes a week or two for HQ to process. once they go to process they take that date add 30 days and whatever leave you had. if the new date is before the 10th of a month your eas will be the last day of the month before if after it will be the end of the month. example:

I signed on Nov 28th. 1-2 weeks gives the range of Dec 5-12. add 30 days, Jan 5-12. add my leave (16 days), Jan 21-26. so eas will be Jan 31. Now say I had 25 days of leave, it would be Feb 1-7. In that case my EAS would also be Jan 31 because it falls before the 10th of the month.

That's awesome! I had no idea! Thank you so much, I can't believe that wasn't even something I asked about earlier in the process.

So, just talked to the PEB, and they said within the next week/ week and half I should be signing my findings. My question NOW is, after HQ gets my package how long of a time should I expect for the timeframe for my new EAS? Like am I looking at a couple of months, or am I looking at a month to forty-five days? My PEBLO said they would take into account any leave/ PTAD I rate, but I'll have like none unless I get the 20 days PTAD. Getting out in February/ March would be ideal for my family and I, but I don't want to get my hopes up. Also, I hit 7 and half years in March and as I understand it your severance pay is rounded to the year. So if for some reason my new EAS is in or past March will I be getting severance for 8 years or 7 years?

I'll do you a solid and give you HQMC seperations number. They told me they count my terminal and 20 days ptad into the eas. I called the PEB and they are sending my package to hqmc tomorrow and hqmc said it takes 72 hours from the time they receive it until it shows on MOL, but its the USMC so im not going to get Excited. Anyways the number is;
(703) 784-9321

I’m not sure about any of your other questions but you should be getting the severance for 8 years as long as it’s past the 7 years and 6 months date

I just got news that my unfit status was sent to the VA how long can I expect to wait for them to get back?

I would expect 2 to 4 weeks ish, mine took 15 days. all just depends on the case load. Approx how long ago did they get the "unfit" finding. keep in mind, holidays are right around the corner.

I hope they hurry up knowing the holidays are coming but they are civilians so I cant dream to big

If I were to sign my findings this week do any of you think I will be able to get my EAS changed before the holidays... and if so what effect will me taking all my leave (21 days) next week for the holidays have on when my eas should be?

I know that it would have been wiser to appeal, but I don't have the fight in me. My wife has a good job with amazing health insurance, so the severance will be beneficial to my family to help bridge the gap between my careers. I know that if I did an appeal, my command would put me back on production, and I just can't do it. Recruiting has ruined me.

I understand. Whats the next move? When is your last day?

as for me, I told my PEBLO the date that I wanted to retire, I have heard that you have a maxium 90 days from the date of signing. I requested a date that was 105 days out but I had leave and PTDY.
your years are rounded up after the 1/2 year mark.

If you got them this week, possibly. But be out before the holidays? not a chance. Especially with audits.

For sure, I assume I'll be out by like mid January (meaning I'd start ptad to get a house in cali while I'm stationed at camp lejune) if I sign my ratings this week.

I'm honestly not sure what my next move is. I think I'm just waiting for the peb to send an index number to HQMC so I can get a new EAS. My interim PEBLO was clueless.

Mine was as well. I have absolutely no idea on what steps to take next

Does anyone know how long it takes the peb to issue index numbers?

I was told 1-3 weeks by my lawyer and hqmc Sep branch.

I've been following you situation pretty closely since our timelines are similar and I am very happy that this process is ending for you! Congratulations! I hope I'm going to be following you here shortly.
