I went thru the med board process in 2011 at that time it was for severe hearing loss greater than 85% on one ear. They gave me the choice of reclass or getting out with 30%. I chose reclass. They never gave me a document or any type of paperwork related to this other than my permanent H3 profile. Is there a place I can go to get it? I'm going thru the IDES process again but this time for my back and now I got an H4 on my hearing but the dr haven't refer me to the IDES for that just yet. I'm afraid they are going to give me less for my back and won't count my hearing even thou I'm almost completely deaf of one ear and half on the other. Just trying to get more than 30 % so my family can keep tricare.

Check with your Audiology and see if they have a copy of your old documents. If not, I think the priority in your situation, is not the old documents but to check if your hearing profile meets Unfit condition IAW AR 40-501. If it does meet unfit cond.,

-then ask the MEB Doctor in charge overall or the MEB Physician(that prepared your NARSUM) to change your current profile for the H4 to reflect on it.
- ask to add that as an unfit condition on your NARSUM.

When I went thru, the Overall Physician in charge of MEB, was able to change my PULHES on e-profile and reissue a new profile. He also told my NARSUM physician (she works for him) to ensure it goes on the NARSUM(front page) as an unfit condition. That's how I know this, anyways

What stage of the IDES process are you in right now? Have you received your NARSUM yet?
If it's too late to change your profile then request an IMR before you sign your NARMSUM.

If you are in the PEB stage, you can appeal and demand an FPEB for your hearing. However, sometimes, the PEB does recognize conditions that stood out and change it from fit to unfit.

Stay proactive with your case and appeal if you are not comfortable with any of the results

Hopefully this helps

Your PUHLES should reflect the H4, so the MEB doc should see the hearing problem and reflect it on the NARSUM. However, since your hearing has been out from about 4 years and it hasn't made you unable to do the 25B job, it will likely be considered as meeting retention standards. Your best bet, IMO, is to get the doc to show that your hearing is getting worse with new limitations. I'd also make sure your commander talks about how your hearing makes you unable to do your job. If that evidence isn't available, it likely will be considered fit and be a VA rating only.
