Who should I work with: JAG, DAV, VFW?

First of all, you need to work with the JAG assigned to MEB. They are the primary ones who can assist you at this stage. DAV and VFW can be of assistance at the ratings stage, but do not have as much experience or clout at the earlier MEB/PEB stages. From my own experience, and from what I have seen from others, it is usually a wise idea to get to JAG from day one, and keep them in the loop through the process. They can assist with additional medical opinions, making sure everything is included in the MEB, independent reviews, VA reconsiderations, PEB appeals, etc.

Shorter answer - MEB Jag for the whole process, add DVA or VFW early to possible assist with VA rating issues or information.
