Hello all,
I'm in a weird predicament and I was wondering if anyone could help me with my scenario. I'm in the Marine Corps 2nd enlistment being dual processed. I was injured at my current command about 4 years ago during some MCMAP training and was thrown on the back of my neck knocked out. No corpsman was there nor was one called. I came to about 5 or 10 min later. My eyes were to different sizes suggesting I had a concussion. I was taken home and they just let me go to bed, which I've been told is a no no due to possibly not waking back up. a couple weeks later a house blew up next to mine. I'm not making this up real incident. I have had some issues with PTSD mostly sleeping issues but after those two events my symptoms worsened.
I started gaining weight and didn't know why, so I just PT more but no winning that. I eventually was out of regulations for height weight. the injury 2012, issued to BCP early 2013. I was on the program and known of the regulations were met as far as running BCP your supposed to have nutritionist fitness trainers etc. we have known here. I was told to just do what ever the Marine running the program said so I did. We were doing bench press and my shoulder was starting to shift. I blew my shoulder out in Afghanistan years before this. needless to say I reinjured my shoulder. So I was in physical therapy awhile for that, but I kept showing up like a good Marine and since upper body was out of the question lets focus on the lower now. So he had me do squats my form wasn't to his liking, so as I was squatting down he used his foot to push my foot straight basically kicked it straight. There was a pop and low and behold now my medial meniscus was tore in half. Upon further examination my ACL was destroyed also. I did not pass my BCP, so they tried to Adsep me. I informed them of a lot of issues with my paper work. They submitted it any way. I was told I could do what I needed to prepare for separation so my wife wanted to start school. I was told by the command that's fine take my wife and daughter back home 2,000 miles away. this was early 2014 time frame. Day I took leave a message came in the paper work was not signed my court martialing authority officer. The paper work was no good. I wasn't told till after I returned to the command that I wasn't getting out. So they decided that we have to put him back on BCP, and I also got my date for knee surgery. They waited 6 months to reprocess me back to BCP and they did it the day I went into surgery. I returned after convalescent leave and there was my paperwork, the naval medical even wrote I was fit for full duty and assignment to the program. The surgeon said that it take 9 months to a year to be fully healed, I passed my third limdu mid BCP and was processed to the MEB.
They found out that my knee was messed up still and pain. So they med boarded me on my knee, shoulder, PTSD, and a TBI. BCP was now over and SgtMaj found out I was being med boarded he didn't like that so he waited a few months after I failed BCP to adsep me, not days or weeks but months. early 2015 they started making me see a mental health specialist for my PTSD but he was concerned about the head injury. He starts sending to TBI doctors who eventually were talking about my frontal lobes being bruised back in 2012 and how that would cause the weight gain. The command got me into the formal adsep October 2015, my med board still going. I had to do a formal medboard explain my job and why I cant do it anymore. They agreed and its currently unfit at the VA side. My question is the ad board voted that I be adsep in accordance with marine corps orders but after words they explained that they wanted to rule in my favor but I was still waiting on the papers from the doc stating due to underlying causes. I was submitted for a general but they bumped it to honorable. I'm still here and wondering will my Med board win this one or can the Adsep still happen? I have no other issues in the Marine Corps that would be against me. I've been separated from my family for years now got to go on leave twice in the past 2 years and its starting to get to me after everything they've put me through I would feel that the med board would hold wait against the adsep? The command keeps asking me why i'm still here? I'm past my EAS. Is one of these ever going to take effect?
