all dbqs uploaded but still haven’t scheduled audiology

exams are ongoing, I had quite a delay scheduling because I am referred for two conditions and a Bh provider needed to sign off on my profile. I have completed most of my exams but waiting on audiology to be scheduled still. All my other exams were completed in September. I did not separately put hearing loss and tinnitus on my VA form but it is an inherent part of one of my referred conditions, semi-circular canal dehiscence. i was getting concerned that they failed to schedule it because I didn’t seperately put hearing loss on the VA form but it’s all over my medical records and the MSC is stating this is a mandatory exam? Can anyone confirm?

Talk to your MSC and see if you can add it to the form. Worst case scenario is that you apply for it after you get out and as long as you did so within one year of getting out you will have the condition backdated to the day after you exit the military.

How many years AD? Semi-circular canal dehiscence is a pre existing condition.

22 years. While I suppose you could make an argument the hole in my skull base was always there I didn’t have symptoms until years into military service and it correlated precisely with tbi. What’s your basis for saying it’s a pre-existing condition and what are the ramifications of that in terms of MEB/PEB?

It doesn’t matter, if you have over 8 years of service. This condition is usually associated with fetal development, but trauma and infection are tertiary causes.

MSC reviewed 28 NOV and kicked back for multiple missed claims including insomnia, osa, pulm(SoB), and audiology. VES plans to schedule these exams towards the end of december Although audiology was not one of them. I spoke to the MSC again who said that once these exams are submitted no audiology is completed he will resubmit for that which will likely be some tmid after the 1st of the year. Good thing I’m in no hurry!

Second set of VA exams completed 15 MAR. Awaiting additional DBQs

DBQs have been uploaded since APR 10, reached out the MSC in early June, three weeks later he replied, “we will get to them soon”. Still no further contact at this point.

Ironically was contacted by PEBLO today, exams received from VA this week and NARSUM requested. Any guess how long to write the NARSUM?

27AUG PEBLO called requesting some updated forms since it has been so long since we started. He also mentioned that my packet is already in the voting stage, that it got moved up for some reason. Any reasonable estimates of what the timeline is like once in the “voting stage”??

glad to hear this is over for you. I have a very similar timeline and am hoping to get ratings back any day now… my claim closed on the VA app on Oct 5 and then required a medical opinion appointment closed and uploaded on 28th of Oct. I was told that won’t slow the PEB down but, still nothing.
