So basically, they can PCS me as long as I have leave. I currently only have 5 days of leave accrued. I enjoy seeing my wife once every few months. I meet all the criteria for the application. I am just kind of confused on the process. I read this...
4.9. Travel.
A member may PCS to any designated place in the CONUS if he or she has completed 8 years continuous active duty with no single break of more than 90 days just before PEB evaluation. If the member does not have 8 years continuous active service, he or she may go PCS only to the home of record or the place where ordered to active duty. Travel to the nonmilitary address must meet the rules set forth in the Joint Federal Travel Regulation (JFTR), Volume 1.
That is if you are getting medically retired. If you are just starting the process, you do not now if you are getting medically seperated or retired yet, until you are offered your ratings. Two different set of rules and benefits for the two. The will not PCS you from your overseas location until your MEB is complete, unless you are doing a remote OCONUS tour.
Does this mean I can return to my Home of Record and be home with my wife sooner? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
