Hello,

I have been looking all over for the answer to this question and haven't been able to find it, so I thought I'd try here.

I am a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy, currently undergoing the PEB phase of the IDES process for:
  • Social Phobia
  • PTSD
  • Adjustment Disorder
  • Depression
  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder
  • Alcohol/Substance Abuse
  • Sleeping Disorder
  • Migraines
I have not been found fit or
unfit yet, however I have a question for if I am found unfit.

If I'm found unfit, is there a way I can go on some sort of convalescent leave or home awaiting orders while I am waiting for my conditions to be rated? The reason I ask this is because due to the nature of my conditions, being at work or around people in general is very difficult and uncomfortable for me, so if I am considered unfit I would like some form of relief as soon as possible.

I hope someone can help me with this,

Thank you

If anyone knows anything about this, I would really appreciate your input...

Thanks

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

From my experiences in the DoD IDES process, you would definitely need to obtain the medical support of your MEB profiling official, your PCM and your unit's Command leadership for starters.

That said, it may seem to be an "uphill" battle for implementation at the end of the day in my opinion. As such, make the request(s) and see what occurs with both military leaderships.

In the interim, have you used any ordinary military leave at this point in time? Take care!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Your diagnosis does not require rest at home, but requesting a work location that has little social contact would be very reasonable and could be put in your profile.

The home awaiting orders deal is a waste of your time dude, it's a memo in the reg. Jason helped me actually find it, the peblo had no clue. After looking into it you'd be better off sucking it up till you were done.
