All,
I am 17.5 yrs in the AF and getting MEB’d for pain medication that I no longer take. Med clinic says if I don’t take the pills, no MEB, simple right? Wrong, my Capt is doing a full blown investigation into everything. I have fibromyalgia, which she is now trying to get me booted for, even though I can perform all of my work and am able to deploy. I’m an E-7 so it’s mostly desk work. I haven’t taken a full PT test since 2013, which the clinic is fine with...but not my Capt.
Questions:
1. Can I be MEB’d for things other than what the MEB was originated for?
2. Is there a magic number of service to where you cannot be removed easily from the service? I’ve heard 18 requires the SECAF signature to boot somebody, but cannot find it in writing. I knew a guy who was returned to service with MS. He was out of work for 6 mths of the year.
3. What are the appeals processes?
