Change status from medical separation to medical retirement to receive CRSC

I was medically separated in 2017 as an E8 with 19 years of service. My DOD rating was 10% and VA 90% (now 100). I have combat related disabilities and would like to change it to a medical retirement to receive combat related special compensation. How can I get this reconsidered?

Hello @eoddiver

See "How to Prepare for Submitting Appeals" at
LINK <----

You might need an attorney.

@chaplaincharlie might be able to offer an outline of the process.

Good luck,
Ron

You would need to file with the BCMR. The process takes years!

Glad you have help.

Dang.....you were just separated at 19.....WTH.....did you appeal everything? I think I would have a hard time with that and that’s what I’m going through right now....hit 19 in August and going through an MEB. Any advice you could give me on making my outcome different?

@Nighthawk2714

I would have to agree with you especially for a 10% disability he possibly lost millions in CRDP pay he needs a 30% rating to retire to collect CRSC maybe they hosed him by not adding other severe disabilities to his MEB.
