Separation/Timeline: Requesting Rough Estimate

Hi all,

I know all cases vary, but I was submitted to PEB Jan. 5th

I have yet to receive findingsbut likely being found unfit.

Requesting a rough estimate of when I may be able to leave the military. Is it 60-90 days from findings? May or June?

Ive read and searched on the form some and that’s been helpful.

Ive been waiting for my PEB findings to come back for about a month now. After you signed your unfit findings, did they tell you how long until you separate?
 
It depends on if your Air Force or not. I’m AF, so now I’m just waiting on my orders, which I was told takes about a week or two. I’m hoping I get them next week. Then your DOS depends on your leave and if you get ptdy or not. So AFPC gives you 15 days to out process, plus terminal leave, plus ptdy (if you get retired). Then that’s your last day on your orders. But it also depends on if your people approve your terminal leave. Mine are fighting me on it and trying to force me to sell it and make me work those days instead of approve me to be on leave. So I’m meeting with my commander to hopefully persuade him to approve my terminal
 
I’ve been a great airmen for the last 5 years I’ve been in, and during this whole medboard process my leadership had been telling me to save my leave because they would give me terminal. And the same day I signed the paperwork for my findings, they told me the commander would only give me 14 days of terminal and the 20 ptdy. So now I’m stuck with possibly selling back 14 days of leave. I’m a respiratory therapist in the AF and I have a profile that doesn’t let me do any part of my job since last June, so I’ve just been sitting at a desk doing admin work since the medboard began. My leadership or commander does not care that I will be rushing to find a place to live in another state across the country or find a job and that I will be losing money by selling back leave. They only care about “the mission”. So when I do talk to them, I plan on telling them that I don’t perform any duties that apply to the mission and I literally have done nothing at work other than my homework for college. My PEBLO told me that she asked the commander twice to give me my full terminal, and he said no. She did tell me that she can e-mail AFPC and shorten my terminal leave from 32 to 14 days on my orders, so that my orders will have a sooner date. I don’t know if that’s true though and she said they may just keep the same date that they had before. My leadership and commander are really just being bullies at this point and I’m thinking of filing an IG complaint if they deny my terminal when I put it into Leaveweb

I hope you went to IG and respectfully threw them under the bus. Leave is not a privilege. You earned it. If they need help learning how fill manning, I’m sure there’s some -10 level class they can attend. They don’t want to be left without someone in your slot. Create a packet containing (army version is 4187) requesting them to transfer you to (again, army version) warrior transition battalion so you come off their books.
1. they get their new guy
2. They don’t have to worry about you anymore

I got my terminal leave today! Met with my leadership and they still told me I would only get 14 days terminal. So I told them I was going to put my full 40 days into Leaveweb so the commander can formally deny it, then my peblo was going to take that denial and sent it to AFPC so my orders would get cut shorter. After saying that, I got my terminal! I think because the commander didn’t want to look bad and deny my terminal. And they realized I was going to fight for my terminal.

A lot of low level command thinks they’re the freaking profile police/investigators whereas higher level, o-5/6 and up have seen troops who get fcked up and are more empathetic. They may have known if they kept pushing, they’d get their peepee smacked. Either way, congratulations on being allowed to use what you’ve earned
