Dual processing

Dual processing - chapter/administrative separation and med board concurrently...if told that the service member will receive a General Under Honorable Conditions discharge can they still be medically retired?

I’m not aware of any stats kept on that, but anecdotally, it seems like the medical is normally approved. I think it would require serious misconduct before an admin sep would be approved over a medical.
 
It largely depends on the relationship, if any, between the diseases and the conduct.

That has not been my experience. I have seen several cases where the medical sep was approved despite unrelated low level misconduct.
 
I would not disagree when the conduct is low level.
 
Hi, dual action case here. My MEB was initiated 20 APR 2020 and my chapter was initiated in JUL 2020. My MEB was started for PTSD due to MST and my chapter was for use of illegal substances (yes i know i did bad things keep your lecture to yourself). I finished all my VA C&P appts in Sep 2020 and all things for my chapter in Dec 2020. I was finally contacted by a lawyer who was in charge of my dual action case to write my statement for the CG in APR 2021. My decision from the CG was just returned last week 5 JUL 2021 with the decision to proceed with the MEB and I am now finally after 15 months in the PEB phase.

Does it matter if chapter is initiated before MEB?
