IDES Timeline

I already had to turn down an offer from Boeing because of this POS process called IDES. They wanted me to start in December as well but after seeing people have their cases at the board for 140+ days there was no way I could fill the spot in December when I'm at 106 days.
Yeah 169 days for me and I’m not even optimistic that my EAS will be before the spring semester so I can even start school.

Really sorry to hear you had to turn down a job offer. I've had to do that a few times too. I did get a bit lucky though and one company allowed me to accept a job offer without a start date after I explained to them the situation with the PEB. They check in with me once a week to see if I've heard anything from the board and continue to be understanding of the situation and enthusiastic about my yet to be determined start date with the company. Perhaps Boeing or other potential employers would be willing to do the same for you if they were aware of your situation.
I had explained to them the situation. They just needed the position filled in December and I didn't want to accept the position without being confident that I would have the appropriate amount of time to transition and relocate my family and all of our belongings within the timeframe.

Yeah my 2nd 9 month extension starts 1 Nov if it ever gets approved by HQMC. I only signed the extension 3 weeks ago. I dont see myself EAS'ing by the New Year which sucks because I moved my wife and daughter to California in Sept to be with her family until I EAS.

What would happen if it dosnt get approved in time? Would your peb get canceled? Im in a similer situation

It’s ridiculous how much a med board can mess your transition up.

The PEB can't be canceled without your request, approval from your command, and a letter forwarded to MMSR-4 for approval. (MARCORSEPMAN 1900.16-8305). Which I would assume signing an extension would pretty much say I'm not voluntarily separating at EAS before PEB concludes.

It's insane. Its also ridiculous how little effort my PEBLO and LIMDU Coordinator do to keep me updated on my case. The transition coordinators on Quantico are absolutely worthless too. I get it, it's my case and my transition, but these people are put into these positions to help and guide us along the path which isn't being done.

It’s like any civilian that works in a government position puts little to no effort into their jobs. I’m grateful that my PEBLO was on top of everything until my package was sent to the PEB. After that he’s just completely ignored me.

Has anyone on here received a response from an IG complaint or from their congressional representative? If so, would you be willing to share them with me after redacting personal information? I've been speaking with a lawyer that has some contacts he believes can help put pressure on the PEB to improve their processes. He said it would be very helpful if we could provide responses to IG complaints and congressional representatives showing the PEB is being dismissive by saying they will get to cases in the order they were received.
DM me for a private response

I just checked BOL and IRR section. It has me LOD at 11-20-20. The date was my car accident date. Is that significant going through this whole process?

Received this from my PEBLO today:

"your current status at the PEB is # 7 in the Medical Officer Que for cases at Walter Reed.

Walter reed currently has 124 cases at the PEB, of that 124 case 87 are sitting in the medical Officer Que.

USN/USMC wide there are 5003 cases at the PEB, of that 5003 cases 3768 are sitting in the Medical Officer Que.

On that list you are #3688"

So does that mean there are 3700 people in front of you?

Weren't you like number 3 at Walter Reed recently? Man, those numbers ar seriously depressing
Yeah, not sure what's up with the inconsistent numbers. I may have misunderstood my PEBLO when he gave numbers the last time. Maybe he meant I was #3 for his cases and I took that to mean #3 for all cases from his office. Either way super depressing if I really do have 3600 cases ahead of me at the PEB.

I try to hold onto some hope though because Walter Reed seems to get findings for 2 cases per week.

Supposedly you can give your PEBLO (or maybe lawyer) your college acceptance letter and they'll expedite your PEB process

I thought I was going to get out of the Navy at my EAOS last May until my medboard process started, at which point I thought it might keep my in the Navy past my EAOS (lol). My wife accepted a nice promotion with her company down in Texas so I moved her and the baby down there in July, thinking I would be right behind them.

Between flights to visit them and renting a house down there while still paying a mortgage here in Virginia, this extended medboard process has already cost me thousands of dollars (not to mention dozens of leave days that I could have saved for terminal). I ended up renting out my house in VA at the start of October so now I'm literally crashing in a friend's guest room, 1500 miles away from my family, just waiting to get out of the Navy.

Luckily my wife and daughter are with her parents in California so we aren't getting absolutely raped by rent/mortgage costs. I'm also crashing at a co-worker/friend's house while in VA. I haven't taken hardly any leave in the past few years so I'm sitting at 84 days right now. But I will probably have to take some between now and whenever the PEB findings come back. I'm still waiting on a response from my PEBLO for an update on where my case is at. She seems to never answer any of my e-mails and I always have to drive to the clinic unannounced and ask her in person.
