I thought I was going to get out of the Navy at my EAOS last May until my medboard process started, at which point I thought it might keep my in the Navy past my EAOS (lol). My wife accepted a nice promotion with her company down in Texas so I moved her and the baby down there in July, thinking I would be right behind them.
Between flights to visit them and renting a house down there while still paying a mortgage here in Virginia, this extended medboard process has already cost me thousands of dollars (not to mention dozens of leave days that I could have saved for terminal). I ended up renting out my house in VA at the start of October so now I'm literally crashing in a friend's guest room, 1500 miles away from my family, just waiting to get out of the Navy.
