Hearing mixed things. The VA notoriously denies Gulf War claims. Anyone have success here?

Did you have to make any specific statement for these to be successful, or were the diagnosis, verified location, and medical evidence enough?

The Army’s CRSC page provides explicit info on what to include with one’s application.

Most of my combat related disabilities were presumptive to exposure to Agent Orange. One that is not is for a cardiac pacemaker.
The supporting evidence included:
—Army medical report (sick call) where my heart was beating only 40 BPM (I was 40)
—diagnosis of bradycardia by civilian doctor and records of pacemaker implant.
—VA records of the service connected disabilities (including the VA Award)

To be blunt and trying very very hard not to eye roll, no one has answered my query. I am well aware of who approves CRSC and what it is. Not sure how you gleaned from my IBS question I needed info on CRSC. I never asked about the process. Maybe take a moment to take in the question or comment before just firing off a reply.
You folks seem to miss the point that you have to have a rating from the VA before you can apply to the services CRSC that condition(s) rated by the VA were combat related. You have to have a condition rated by the VBA first then you apply to your specific services CRSC board. I am asking if such is granted. Seems to be issues with either VA not granting per the law as IBS is a listed presumed gulf war condition. Doctors don’t know what causes IBS by the way. CRSC is supposed to treat a combat presumed illness under gulf war, PACT, Agent orange as such.

I understand who approves CRSC you need a rating from the VA first with at least 10% disabling per CRSC guidelines. The CRSC board doesn’t assess the severity or that you have the conditions, they assess if you qualify for CRSC. Still need to go thru the VA first.

The title of the CRSC post and then the mention of the VA caused some confusion. To answer what I think is your question, yes, many people get sinusitis and IBS ratings from the VA. My medical records from my military service had a current diagnosis (most important) along with many instances of treatment and medication for both. I was approved by the VA before both became presumptive conditions and approved for CRSC for both after. Presumption should only help (for service connection) but I’m not aware of the VA denying those conditions regularly prior as long as there is medical documentation. The only thing I did to assist the VA was go condition by condition and list dates and times in my medical records where I was treated as a reference for reviewers in a word doc. It was used for sure by my C&P examiner (I watched him use it) and I strongly suspect by the VA raters as well. Hope this helps and a friendly reminder - we are all just trying to help with advice based on our experience. Service members asking questions on this forum have different degrees of understanding and while the process can be frustrating being cordial on this forum goes a long way.
 
Also, I forgot to mention, my provider added fibromyalgia as a diagnosis very late in my military service (like last couple months). I was upfront with the C&P examiner and told him I disagreed with that diagnosis and didn’t think I had it as shown by my medical records for the previous 20 years. I was denied (correctly) for fibromyalgia. Had I not self reported, I’m honestly not 100% sure how it would have gone. If I was asked for current symptoms I would have denied having any (same outcome) and had I claimed symptoms I suspect insufficient medical records would have prevailed (same outcome).
 
Still doesn’t answer my question. Again every is firing off their canned go to replies. Great appreciated the calculations. Concerns is the process. I found resources, mainly the CFR. As late ng as the IBS is diagnosed and rated, has to be functional not structural, its presumed Gulf War. In turn the CRSC should grant as with all other combat presumptives.
