Camp Lejeune timeline

Pretty dumb question, but does anyone think IPAC will care if I'm shaved when I come in civvies to pick up my DD214? I'll have been on PTAD for 20 days "in conjunction" w my terminal. Trying to get a headstart on my beard lol.
I don't think they would really care since your in civis and on terminal leave

Did any of you guys have any luck going on skillbridge with your commands? In the order it says people in IDES can go but the commander has to think that you're getting out in 180 days. I talked to my gunny ab it and he's like, "there's always a possibility that you're found fit."

Skillbridge is hard to justify IMO. In order to have justified it in my timeline, I would've had to submit my package for it during my VA exams to meet the 180 day mark. Not to mention how fucked you'd be if you were called in for findings and happened to be states away.

There is always remote opportunities, but I would have a hard time seeing a commander approving skillbridge for a medboard at the tail end of it all. If your sep date ends up being way sooner than skillbridge ending it'll get dicey.

Your Gunny also has no idea what he's talking about. Yes you could be found fit, under those same pretenses you shouldn't check out, go to TRS, or enroll in VR&E. Not a great way to look at it since it'd just mute opportunities for you.

I would personally recommend just utilizing VR&E and kickstarting your post service career.

It's funny you mention it cause the skillbridge I'm trying to do is remote. Why do you think it would get dicey? Also I didn't know that I can enroll in VR&E right now so that's lit.

I recommend enrolling in VR&E immediately if you're at the PEB stage. You're entitled to the program: you can't be denied. That's an entirely separate GI bill waiting to be used so please use it.

I would imagine authorizing PTAD for multiple months and getting cut short in the middle for a new EAS would be an admin nightmare. Especially if nobody informs you of your EAS update because it does NOT notify you!!! That shit just posts and you're expected to just know that.

IPAC needs 10 working days to generate your 214 and they need 2 days minimum for you to review a draft and correct any issues. Missing that window would be absolute agony.

I'm sure it can be done I'm just certainly not brave enough to tread any waters that complicate the generation of the paper that grants me freedom.

I was just lurking and saw you mention that VR&E could still be used while in service and can’t be denied. How does that work? Got any website links or advice?

Disregard, just sent in an application on the va website. We’ll see what happens next (fingerscrossed)

Does anyone know how long it takes for the DOD rating to come back? I have the unfit determination and the proposed VA rating (VA claim closed 1 July 2024), but my PEBLO says she can't tell me anything officially till the DOD rating comes back. When should I expect a new EAS?

No need to cross your fingers. You'll get an interview and an acceptance letter in the same day you get interviewed. Just make sure the job you want doesn't conflict with a disability.

Takes about a month and a week from the time they found you unfit in my experience. I got the first medical officer's unfitness determination on the 3rd and the presiding officer confirming an unfit determination on the 6th of May. My findings returned on the 13th of June for me to sign.

I got my findings 15 days after my VA claim closed and my new EAS was updated 6 days after I signed my findings Everyone's timelines are different but I would expect something along those lines.

Tip for you guys who have housing insecurity: you can use your active duty paystubs to qualify for a lease. Since almost everyone would be moving within their active duty window it's fair game. Just got approved for a year lease in a pretty nice apartment with this and I'll be making about the same amount of money with VA payments so should work out well. Check for free month specials to offset that VA pay gap. Check out UCX in your state as well and consider SNAP if necessary. Wishing y'all the best none of y'all should be homeless or hungry.

I signed on the 13th and they are saying they're assigning my date as of the 21st so about a week. The number is (703) 784-9308 or 9309 or 9321.
Is this phone number only to the sgt major I want to hear an update but not trying to jump the gun and call a sgt major. I signed for my findings on july 2nd and trying to line up a job so I need an estimated start date I have 61 days of leave and fully checked out.

I wouldn't worry about skipping chain of command at this point lol. That's their publicly posted number, some days a Lance answers, other days it's a SgtMaj. Call them up.

When I called a couple weeks ago they said they didn't have my findings and stuff either but I checked MOL the next day my EAS was updated so just a heads up keep checking MOL

Found out that mistakes on your outbound interview are likely to happen if you submit a new permanent mailing address. Without any notice my requested days to sell was changed from 20 to 10. I'm told it will be fixed but I'm pretty confident if I didn't keep an eye on it it would have gone through that way. Watch your outbound interviews for changes from IPAC if you change addresses or any major details.

MY TIMELINE

INJURY: OCT 2018
REFERRED TO MEDBOARD: 7 MARCH 2024
MSC APPT: 10 APR 2024
DES BRIEF: 17 APR 2024
C&P EXAMS: 5 MAY -8 MAY 2024
DBQ UPLOAD:22 MAY 2024

I am USN, this is my timeline, currently, the line got cold, not getting or hearing anything, my referred condition is Lumbar Radiculopathy, I spoke to VA a couple of weeks ago and it was in the decision phase, I haven't seen, anything on my VA app.
My question is at what point do I call and speak to Jeff?
I also haven't signed the NARSUM, which I see a lot of people sign pretty early even before the proposed ratings come in.

My Peblo almost doesn't exist she doesn't return calls or emails so at this point I am kinda stuck anyone have any information that could help put me at ease?

Usually after your DBQs come in and you push your NMA forward you gotta go to your PEBLO to sign your package off to the PEB phase. If that's all you're waiting on, to get to the PEB phase, you oughta go to the IDES office in person and explain you're there for your package to be signed off.
