Menieres Disease Rating help

Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone out there can assist with a rating question. I’m currently in IDES for Menieres and recently had my C&P exam. The examiner checked off the hearing impairment with attacks of vertigo and cerebellar gait and Tinnitus blocks on the DBQ, both more than once weekly as my attacks occur up to 4 times a week. However, he didn’t specify the cerebellar gait/off balance issues in the DBQ write up. Only the attacks of vertigo and hearing impairment 3-4 times a week. I’ve ran into this issue as well on the DOD side as my PCM/ENT only note the vertigo when I explain the full scope of my symptoms including my inability to walk and being off balance. My audiologist and a separate ENT noted “off balance” and “imbalanced during attacks” in my military notes, so I only have my balance issues noted twice out of all of my visits for MD (2020-current). My question is: will this affect my chances of a 100% rating once the VA proposes ratings? Thanks in advance!

It might. Best to be proactive and write a statement about your balance issues and include some of those notes. You can upload the document statement in support of a claim on VA.gov to add that your file that will be considered by the VA rater.

Thanks! Is this possible although I’m still active duty, currently in IDES? I ask because I haven’t seen my claim populate yet on VA.gov

How early are you in the process? It should show up as a claim that all conditions are lumped together. You can upload information to that claim and its easy to see what documents you upload are for which claimed condition.

Gotcha! I checked my VA App and it’s still nothing there. Currently I’m complete with my exams and waiting for the VA to release them to my PEBLO so my NARSUM can be requested/written. Maybe that’s why I can’t see it yet? Would you recommend maybe reaching out to my MSC?

I only went online in computer so you might want to do that. Not sure if the app on your phone will have all the functionality of the website.

How did this play out did you get 100% for Meniere's alone or did you have to do a VARR? also did you say you had cerebellar gait issues or did he simply check it off by himself? Thanks!
