For reference I emailed my peblo this morning to ask about something completely different and she told me I was found unfit on the 16th. Later today I was going to look and see if my Rudisill decision was complete and saw a claim was closed. So found out both of these things today.

She says I should hear something next week.. Hopefully something good..

That’s great it went so fast. 7 appointments too. Any idea on why so many? Just a lot of conditions or did specialists have to weigh in? Are appointments hard to get? I have my inbrief this coming week.

Just depends on what you are claiming, I saw an audiologist, optometrist, Nuerologist, Dental, Gen med doctor, pyschiatrist, and I think X rays was another appointment. It just all depends if all your stuff is documented, you have everything in order when you do your gen med exam pre screening phone call. I had up my medical records and the DBQ while I was doing the pre screen phone call to make sure I referenced the right things to say when she asked.

Appointments aren't hard to get, they schedule them for you, or will call and schedule them with you. My dental exam they just didn't have a contractor available that's why I went to Boston.

I've been clearing the installation the last few days. Pretty much complete minus government housing since we moved off base a few weeks ago and sign over out government house on Monday. Once that's done I will be clearing complete until I can hit the finance within 72 hours of final out. It's getting all too real now...

Aye bro good luck with everything! I ended up getting my NLT date and I will start terminal leave 01 AUG. I will begin clearing soon as well.

Wow that seems like a pretty quick process compared to many I've seen. I was just referred by my pcm at schofield so im hoping 5-6 months since I only have claims for my back and legs.

Congrats

Ya I'm not sure why it went so fast, but I got everything in order ahead of time, finished TAP well in advance, didn't object to any findings and concurred with everything. I'll take it. I got a bout 12 days before terminal leave...

SBP Appointment today. She also set up my retirement DFAS account and selected exempt from taxes.. Hell yeah!

Finaled out today. Retirement Services tomorrow morning and I'm done. Feels weird not knowing what to do, I've worked since I was 14 and now have nothing to do. Feels good but at the same time I have this need to want to do something.. Hopefully I can chill for a while before the bug gets to me to work again.

Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement! I think this might be the first time in a while you get to choose what you want to do, instead of need to do. Spend some time with family or travel maybe? I went to Europe last summer and it was an absolute blast.

Ya I have some things in mind, just a weird feeling I can do whatever I want..lol 23 years of having to do what's it's told...lol

Received retirement certificate and start Terminal leave tomorrow. Best wishes to everyone. I'll still be lurking around to offer my insight to others.

Got contacted by the post 9/11 Mil2VA case manager yesterday to setup my initial PCM appointment with the VA.

Claim showed up on VA website yesterday for being received 31 October 2025.. Weird.. But it shows step 5 and all my claims are in there as well. Hopefully after my retirement date it just closes and gives a rating.
