Submit the PAR through ippsa with my approved leave forms and a counseling form from retirement services signed by a commander. Took like 2 days to get approved.

Gents, wanted to update everyone.

Retirement date was 30 October, last army paycheck was 15 October. Final pay is held for audit to make sure the Army can screw you one more time if you owe them. Getting that final pay took about 40 days, that was not the full pay. They held about 1500 bucks for some other reason and I got that seperate on or about 28 November.

I received my first retired Army paycheck 1 December.

VA claim finalized 11 November with 100% P&T, and still have not received va disability pay as I believe it's 60 days for first payment. Yes you will get back pay.

I say all this to say make sure you have enough savings to be able to pay all your expenses for atleast 60 days with a buffer. Hawaii isn't cheap to live in and luckily I have savings to pay for all my rent and everything else for a while, but hoping for 1 January to get disability with one extra month for November and December along with retired pay.

Also a good not for those who don't know. If you are rated 100% P&T at discharge you can get a free two year extension on sgli at the regular government rate of 30 bucks a month or whatever it is instead of vgli. You just have to submit by email a VA form 8715, DD214 and your final va rating which of course comes in the mail so you have to convert it to a pdf. Mine was 60 pages.

Here's the email for that [email protected]

Attached is the VA form as well.

If anyone has anymore questions feel free to reach out.

This is legit. I just got approved and no payments until 2027. Thank you. I though it was going to be $30 a month but the lady said not its free 2 years. This is what the email said

''If you are totally disabled at the time of separation (unable to work), you can apply for the SGLI Disability Extension, which provides free coverage for up to two years from the date of separation. While you do not need to apply for SGLI coverage, an extension of SGLI due to total disability is not automatic. You must apply to the Office of Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (OSGLI) for the extension. At the end of the extension period, you automatically become eligible for VGLI, subject to premium payments.''

Nice good stuff.. I submitted mine on 4 December and still no word.. Hoping to hear back soon.
Oh damn. I submitted mine the 12th. I gave them a call because I couldn't log into the vgli website and thats how i found out i was approved
