Seattle Regional VA Timelines:

So I did an IRIS inquiry last week and got the reply today. They told me I'm in the "decision phase" and waiting for the rating team to review it. Not sure if thats the same as the "Review of Evidence" phase that's showing in my ebenefits. With that, the email also said their records show I was discharged 2 years ago.. of course I'm still in the Army, going through IDES, that's just when I left the enlisted side. I decided to call the infamous VA 1-800 #, got quite the depressing sounding rep on the line who pretty much told me nothing useful. She said I'm in the "Gathering of evidence" stage and blah blah blah.. of course I figured she had no clue what she was talking about so I just ended that convo. My unfit memo was sent recently so I know I may have to wait but if this is any sign of what the VA is all about then I guess I'll prepare to wait a while. Absolutely ridiculous.
If your unfit memo was just sent out on march 15 than I'm not sure why your doing a iris so quick, majority of claims take 30 day or more to get proposed maybe earlier so you still have a while to wait, no need to stress about it now

Also ebenefits is not really for soldiers that are in the IDES, more for actual VETERANS, also if the Regional Office doesn't updates the status of your claim in the system, then their is no way the 1800# or ebenefits can give you any type of info

Yeah I understand it takes a while, not really stressing too much because I know it's early. I was more hoping to get a better idea of how long I really might be waiting instead of the generic answer. I have employment, school, things with my kids, etc. I'm trying to get all lined up.. without a good timeline it all goes.. well you know.

I WASN'T aware though that ebenefits was more for veterans.. thanks for the info. I was told in the beginning to get an account and go off that, either way if I ask about an update and a rep responds with info saying I was discharged 2 years ago.. that's all wrong in my mind and a lack of an organized system. Oh well, guess I'll just wait a few weeks then see what happens!

I do have a question though, for anyone really.. how do I know if the VA "received" my memo. I noticed a few people had dates and/or said the VA received their unfit memo this or that day. I was only told my case was being forwarded to DRAS in Auburn, but never told anything of the VA receiving the memo or what not.

Your PEBLO can look and tell you if your memo was received, also if the VA rater who was given your claim updates the system then it will showup on you ebenefits

Well it says the claim is complete and should be sent out VIA mail. Has anyone heard of actually recieving their findings or what? When they complete your ratings does it go back digitally to PEB or do they get it mailed? Does anyone have an average time frame for 199s to be typed up? I cant believe there is light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for all the help everyone here continues to provide.
It only took a couple to get my 199 after the VA sent my proposed ratings to the PEB.

Your MSC can tell you this. They can see everything on the VA side. Your PEBLO can only see the PEB's notes.

Thanks for the input, how do I go about doing this?

If your PEBLO and MSC is in the same building, after you sign your 199 see if your MSC can get your exam done right then, he/she will just go over your proposed ratings and if your married with kids, they'll have your bring in their ss cards, marriage and birth certificates

I've averaged out the last 5 people that have gotten their ratings on here and it seems like average wait time for rating is approximately 75 days... Of course could be more... could be less.. My husband has only been waiting for a little over 3 weeks.. Sucks having to wait!! Hope everyone who is still waiting gets their ratings very soon!!

Hopefully your husband gets his sooner, I've noticed the trend as well. My memo was sent a little later than yours but I'm hoping it takes less time than the trend. The VA is supposed to be now switching to electronic records rather than paper, and this was being done very recently as far as I know. I'm fairly certain from what I've been told is that the wait time should be cut drastically if a case is done that way, but of course no way to tell except to wait and see how long it takes for people to get their ratings.

Anyone Currently at the Seattle VA RO? they just switched my RO from WACO to Seattle last week without any update for me. I called the 1800 number and all i got was " well Maybe Seattle has a shorter time for these types of cases" no real help. Any Information would be appreciated.

I'm one of the people still waiting. Almost 90 days now. 7 claimed 3 unfit.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Basically, most members posting within this thread are either awaiting DoD/DoVA ratings or received DoD/DoVA ratings.

At this point, it's a waiting game so welcome to the club!

Best Wishes!

OH Lord... my PEBLO was saying he has been seeing most of his soldiers VA ratings coming back in 4 weeks at the longest 6 weeks. Looks like I'm in for quite the wait since I'm just now hitting a month. And thank you for the welcome, ive been lurking for awhile lol.

I get mine when I get it.. I'd like to see a lot of you young Soldiers and NCOs that have paid the ultimate price while serving this great country to get their results quicker! It's been tough the last 10 years, but it's good to see that some of you are moving fast with their claims and so that all of you can move on with your lives.

You are welcome; no worries...it's all good! :)

They told be this as well. I'm losing job oppertunities now.

I would not even mind one bit if it wasnt for the fact that i need to start school asap for my program... I don't mind getting the paycheck but i really need them to hurry up due to the fact of school... Or the fact you call 1800 va and they are clueless to the IDES process and can not even help you... my MSC has been 0 help to me at all.

Do they need originals? Or can it be copies?
