Proposed VA Rating Changes to Sleep Apnea, Tinnitus, PTSD effective when???

They’re just proposals for now. Many of these have been proposed for years and juts get kicked down the road further. Once they set an actual date we’ll know more information. As of now the date is unknown (if it will ever even go into effect). But I will say, for the past year or two, people...

Active Duty AF - Asthma/Back Timeline

Nov 2023 - Officially diagnosed with moderate persistent asthma by off base provider. Jan 2024 - PCM caught the diagnosis and told me this is a 'boardable' condition. Had to complete several PFTs. Also have been on a code 31 profile for my lower back for 2/3 years. (Nov 2023 - Jun 2024 - placed...

    CRSC VA Waiver

I was told to wait until DFAS has setup your VA waiver to apply. That's why I haven't sent mine in just yet. My wounded warrior rep told me a few days ago to wait until after your first or second VA check to apply - I assume they told me this for the same reason... making sure the DFAS has setup...

Active USAF - Tinker AFB - MH MEB timeline

Not OP, but it's generally based on the 15 days to out process, amount of leave you have + any TDY days your commander gives. In my case, I got my retirement orders in April but due to my large number of leave days combined with TDY my commander gave, I didn't retire until end of August.

    ORDERS

They will be sent to you from APFC. Timeframe varies. Some people get them in 1 week. I got mine 1 month after signing. You should get an email to your .mil email address from PRDA saying a new document has been uploaded.

    JBSA Timeline

You can call the contracted company who setup the exams to ask for a status update (VES, Optum, QTC). But as far as I know, they are allowed 30 days to quality control/review DBQs before sending them back to the VA.

Very new to this! VA and MEB and the future

If your AF469 (profile) says pending MEB, I'm assuming you are showing as a code 37? Soon (could be net week, could be next month) you should be receiving a call from a PEBLO (Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer) to go over your next steps. Will usually be getting the Commanders Impact...

    Fort Bragg

After I completed my final C&P exam, it took about 2 months for me to be found unfit by Air Force Personnel Center and get my DOD/VA ratings. Got my retirement orders a month after that.

    Fort Bragg

Personally, I wouldn't put the cart before the horse by trying to find another job - you're still in the MEB phase of process. Although probably unlikely, you could still be found fit for duty and return back to work with an ALC. The more probable situation is that you will be found unfit, but...

    Texas MEB Timeline

Good to hear you are doing well. If you haven't already, apply for Combat Related Specialty Compensation through the AF. The worst they can tell you is no.

    Eglin IDES TBI Timeline

So what were your referred conditions? TBI and migraines? It's tricky with TBI because TBI’s and mental health can be rated separately but most often they are rated as one combined due to overlapping symptoms. If they did not combine your MH and TBI then a VARR would not help your MH rating...

    Eglin IDES TBI Timeline

Just remember that a VARR would only be for your referred condition(s) rating to be reconsidered and adjusted. I'm guessing TBI/mental health is your referred condition. If so, you most likely got 70% for that using the mental health rating. The only other rating above that is 100% (MH alone -...

Medically Retired at 13.5 years looking to apply for CRSC.

Since you were deployed to the Deid, are you rated by the VA for any PACT Act conditions? For instance asthma, bronchitis, rhinitis, sinusitis? Or rated by the VA for any gulf war presumptives such as IBS, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia? If so, make sure you list those conditions on...

    Curious

First question - your DOD percentage will be based on your unfitting conditions, not all your claimed conditions with the VA. Based on your statement, your DOD% will be based on the 2 conditions.

    Ples planus and plantar fasciitis

Typically rated as one. Mine shows "Bilateral pes planus with plantar fasciitis"

    Anyone

Since you already have 20 years, you will retire even with 20% DOD rating.
  17. D

    Anyone

I'm guessing this means you are over 20 years active duty service? If so, you will be able to retire regularly. If you arent at 20 yet, I recommend delaying by requesting formal boards, hearings, etc.

    Was I Misled?

If you sell leave then you will not keep your full BAS/BAH. Hopefully your PEBLO can help you out and get your date changed. If you don't want to sell your leave but want your date change, I'd recommend seeing if your PEBLO can get your permissive leave days reduced so you don't have to sell...

    Was I Misled?

I'm assuming the original poster wants to sell some leave in order to get their retirement date changed to roughly Aug 28-30 instead of Sept 1-3. That way, they'll officially become a veteran on or before Aug 31... which in turn they'll be paid (or back paid) from the VA as a veteran effective...

Do I qualify for ABCMR and CRSC?

If you are not in a retired status (traditional, medical, etc) then you would not be eligible for CRSC. As far as ABCMR, you could always try. But that was almost 10 years ago. The chances of them going back to change your separation to a medical retirement, especially if the army didn't put you...
