2024 CRSC Pay Amounts —VA Comp Tables and longevity amounts are used

I never said I was getting screwed; I just didn’t understand the calculation as it seemingly appeared as though I was to get a higher amount. Thank you for the clarification and explanation.

2024 CRSC Pay Amounts —VA Comp Tables and longevity amounts are used

I am SO confused by all of these calculations everyone is posting. I’ve been collecting VA and CRSC for over 10 years. But my CRSC is about $890/month; but I have 100% P&T with SMC and 2 kids. My crsc disability rating is also 100% and combat related. I served 9 years and 11 months…and if...

Sleep Apnea Not Ratable in 2014

I got 50% for having sleep apnea with CPAP already....so I don't think that is a reduction. I think they did start rating people at 30% for Sleep apnea with no CPAP instead of just giving everyone a blanketed 50% whether or not they use the CPAP. I tell you, if you actually use your CPAP...

Sleep Apnea Not Ratable in 2014

Here is the link: http://www.military.com/benefits/2013/06/20/va-reconsiders-disability-ratings-for-apnea.html Essentially anyone who has the rating now or is in the process with it now is fine. It mentioned it would take until 2016 for the VARSD to be completely updated.

    Ebenefits Question and confusion

I already got my preliminary ratings back during the IDES process a few months ago before I got medically retired (June 21st). So am I to assume that this is my FINAL ratings now?

    Ebenefits Question and confusion

Just today I logged on to Ebenefits for some strange reason thinking it would change after a few months of being medically discharged...and voila! It did. But it is confusing. I have the following listed in historical claims, which was open previously: 08/10/2012 Compensation...

Disputes with NARSUM (unfit vs fit conditions) and what to expect??

Don't get me wrong there is plenty of things in the NARSUM that make me feel good about getting a good rating, i.e. "unable for reclassification due to injuries as he is unable to perform essential soldier tasks", "continuation on AD poses an undue burden on the unit to protect the soldier."...

Disputes with NARSUM (unfit vs fit conditions) and what to expect??

Mike, You are right it says, this condition fail to meet retention standards for the cervical spondylosis and then the others it says meets the standards (i.e. sleep apnea, shoulder tendonitis/bursitis, cubital tunnel syndrome, high blood pressure, etc). It still feels as though they are...

Disputes with NARSUM (unfit vs fit conditions) and what to expect??

So I just got my NARSUM and 3947 to sign before it goes to the PEB. I obviously have to take it to JAG as I don't agree with some of the verbage in it, and what they did to make me seem more capable than I am. Some stuff just does not even make sense! First off, I had a permanent profile for...

Confused about Receiving both VA Disability & Medical Retirement

Thank you all for your replies. I have another question. I keep reading people's postings on this site and they keep referring to them "signing" their NARSUM's. When is this actually done? My NARSUM was turned in with my entire WTU packet several months ago, and I am just now leaving Korea...

Confused about Receiving both VA Disability & Medical Retirement

That's good that things are moving forward for you. I'm sure something will come through for you. I'm definitely getting as far away from the government as possible in my employment. After a decade in the military I'm sick of all the bureaucracy and nonsense!

Confused about Receiving both VA Disability & Medical Retirement

Thanks Grizz. As I stated above, I have a master's degree, I don't need to learn a craft. I am not having any difficulty finding employment and already have a job lined up for after I transition out of the Army.

Waiting....a few questions for those experienced...we are almost there!!!

Why would you want to get IU compensation? That would limit your ability to get gainful employment anywhere (only being allowed to earn $11/k per year). Full disability pay is not that much money per year.

Waiting....a few questions for those experienced...we are almost there!!!

You really won't get much in monetary compensation for most of what you listed above. Many of the things you listed were being treated with medications and were not very serious to begin with. So they may document it and list it as 0% ratings meaning that you can obtain treatment for those...

Need someone to talk to about my VA transition issues

I am sorry for all your troubles Robert. Where are you living now? Do you live alone? Do you have family members who live near you at all? And how old are you? From the ratings you listed at the end, it wouldn't appear that your physical symptoms are that troubling any longer. Your...

Confused about Receiving both VA Disability & Medical Retirement

Thanks for the reply nwlivewire. Let me ask you this. What if my VA rating is higher than my DOD rating. For example, I get $2000 from VA and $1500 from DOD. Will I then get $2,000 (non-taxed) plus the $500 (taxed) from the DOD?

    MEB for Knee Pain

From what I've gathered about this condition is the following: Doctors diagnose BPS using x-rays to determine patellar alignment and MRI scans to see if there is soft tissue damage. As a last resort, they may look at the knee joint and the condition of the underside of the patella using arthroscopy.

    MEB for Knee Pain

If they have not found anything while doing xrays/MRI I really doubt that you will get any significant rating, let alone a medical retirement. More often than not, pain comes from something (an injury, nerve, tendon, ligament or bone issues). If nothing shows up on scans it sounds like the...

Confused about Receiving both VA Disability & Medical Retirement

Also I just read somewhere that in 2014 the rules about collecting both the Army pension and the VA disability are going to change to allow people with injuries not sustained in combat to receive both paychecks. Are you guys tracking this, and then would people like me who got medically...
