    HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY, PEB FORUM!!

Thank you for this website. It was very helpful to have this free resource available. I was medically retired 3 years ago and I can honestly say my attorney saved my life. I don’t know where I would be without this website. Thank you to all the volunteers who dedicate so many hours of their time.

How is this not a violation of HIPAA?

Not 1 of my civilian medical records exists within my military or VA records. And I’ve been to many different facilities in multiple states.

How is this not a violation of HIPAA?

I appreciate your replies to my post. For me at least personally, none of my military or VA records are in my civilian electronic health record, and vice versa (except for this one ER report from a MTF which is in my VA record, but there are no other reports in my VA record outside the VA...

How is this not a violation of HIPAA?

Then why is only this one ER visit part of my VA health records and not prior ER visits I’ve had as a civilian? Oh and by the way, none of my civilian health records are in my VA health record either. If MTF’s were part of the VA system every visit I’ve had would be there. May I summon you...

How is this not a violation of HIPAA?

But, the military has its own electronic health system that isn’t part of any non-military health system and DEFINITELY not a part of the VA health system. Someone had to have actively sent it over in order for it to be in my VA electronic health record. Military treatment facilities are not...

How is this not a violation of HIPAA?

Been medically retired for 2 years now. Usually if I need an ER I go to my local military hospital on base since there’s no copays and usually no long waits. Recently I needed stitches recently so I went there. A few weeks later I saw the entire report from my visit there in my VA file. I...

    Retirement message?

I have anxiety attacks so bad that every day I come to work covered in vomit, as my severe anxiety makes me throw up. I don’t want to go into what my chain of command does to me as they may be reading this.

    Retirement message?

Thank you for the advice. I hope I did not imply I am any more “deserving” than anyone else waiting for their separation message. I spoke with someone at my MTF, they said each week, separation orders come out in batches of TDRL and PDRL. So, if this week 15 people were put on TDRL and 13...

    Feedback Requested

Everything Provis said. I worked with a private attorney from the week I got my diagnosis and he was the key to my sanity, besides being my advocate. Don’t leave this process without Tricare for the rest of your life for you and your family.

Admin Sep for 300+ days on profile

That’s insane. Sounds like my doctor. “Nothing showed up on the MRI to cause pain *except* a labral tear and hip impingement. But nope, everything else is totally fine! No reason to be in pain over all that!” Military doctors are ridiculous, there’s no “correct” amount of pain. Are they in your...

Am I required to do new VA exams if I don’t want to?

So if the new exam says I don’t have the condition then would I get a 0% rating for it? Or would the VA side with my “good” exam?

Am I required to do new VA exams if I don’t want to?

I wonder why they needed another doctor if you already had a QTC exam?
