When I got recommended for a MEB my life course completely changed. It felt surreal, overwhelming, confusing, and scary all at the same time. I didn't even know where to start. A person on Reddit sent me a link to this site, and I was skeptical. However, I started diving in and reading about all topics, asking questions, and engaging in the community. I quickly realized this forum is unlike any other in existence. It was like having a tremendous group of leaders showing me the way. At every step I had questions, and at every step, the answers were easy to find on this forum. It brought a lot of peace and certainty in my life during one of the most uncertain times in my life. For that reason, I truly want to thank all the members! If anyone is interested, I will share my case timeline of what I have (it is not as detailed as many of you).
12DEC2024: Initial MEB briefing
17DEC2024: First exam
07JAN2025: Last exam
17JAN2025: NARSUM received and signed
15FEB2025: Expedited memo added to my file
03MAR2025: Went over ratings with attorney. Signed sent back same day.
*I am now just waiting for Transitions to call me to go over a final out date*
I had 15 claims and did 4 different exams (the general exam handled most of my claims). I called the VA and my PEBLO weekly to stay on top of my case. I agreed to have my exams on weekdays, weekends, short notice (less than 24 hours), telehealth, and in person. I believe this greatly expedited my exams. I did this by calling the VA and telling them my preferences for exams. The representative said she checked every box and I did one short notice exam, one telehealth and two in person exams.
Whether you are just starting out, or nearing the end of the process, I wish you all the best of luck. Use this forum to ask questions, read, read, and read some more. The more educated you are, the better everything can go. I started with 0 knowledge just like many of you, and now I feel like I could confidently guide someone through the process.
