Adjustment Disorder news

I would have to agree with all the kudos being sent towards Sacha and Peblo11. My PEBLO strikes me as one that goes home and doesn't even give a thought to the soldiers she is tasked to aid. I have been told"that doesn't matter" and "
don't worry, we'll get it taken care of later" and such BS that I wish I could request another PEBLO. I don't know if this is within my rights or if it would be like sending your food back and having the cook spit on it. You have to wonder if you raise hell if somehow someone is going to exact revenge on your packet, you know? So, I just fly in the holding pattern like a good soldier. I haven't even had a call from my PEBLO since this delay started with the CAD. That's a professional for you. As of today, I have sent letters to my Senators asking them to look into the furloughs that I have been told about. With the backlog as huge as it is, causing more by allowing a nonexistent sequester to take effect on the soldiers who risked their lives for this country is not allowable. I have used social media to ask all of my "friends" to do the same. If this is allowed to take place, the snowball effect will cause countless more bottlenecks and downright stopppages. We deserve better and we have to stand up and say so every so often. Please, I know you guys aren't afraid of writing a letter on our behalf. Let's bury them with the paper they are trying to bury us with.
Boz, you can request to get a new PEBLO. Talk to the PEBLO Lead or supervisor and tell them exactly why you want a new one. I get cases that had other PEBLOs before and for one reason or the other the soldier wanted a new one. I've also had a case or two where a soldier has gone through two or three PEBLOs before landing with me. I would hope you wouldn't get a spitty sandwich, I think most PEBLOs are busy enough without wasting time screwing around with a soldier no longer on their case load. The thing to remember is you may get a better PEBLO, or you could end up going the other way. As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If your PEBLO isn't holding up their end, let someone know.

Just had someone in our unit who outprocessed and left in March but still on terminal leave have their retirement orders cancelled and was told they were being extended out to August 31, 2013. They already cleared, moved and setup in another state. No one is really sure if they will remain on leave, put back on full duty and told to stay there, come back, etc.
For the soldiers that we had this happen to, they were told to stay where they were at and wait for further guidance. I've not heard of any forced to return to their previous post.

OTSG needs to update memo 11-046 or 12-035? Or they need write a whole new one for Adjustment Disorder?

Thanks for the advice, PEBLO11. There are so many things that aren't explained about this process. At least in the Reserves. If you asked my command ANYTHING about this process you would be met with dumb stares and "I will have to get back to you on that", and they never would. Why aren't commands being trained on this. S-1 doesn't have a clue and they don't understand why getting my time in service is anywhere near important. You are a hero while you're here, but once you get ready to leave everything was your fault, you know? My command used my MEB as a class to figure this stuff out, and they still don't know. Is there any training for them? Are they just ignoring it? I thank God I found this forum every day. I have just roamed thru the threads and have found out more than I ever would know before. As a result, I have told those I think should know about it also. Thanks again.

I plan on going and speaking to medical IG tomorrow here on post. Any chance they will be able to do anything or find anything out??

Nope, they will call over, find out that the hold on everyone was put in place by a higher agency. Will just cause more heartache for yourself.

Just got back from the IG office. The hold up is due to there being nothing in the regulation that states weather or not CAD meets or fails retention standards, so until they get that put in nothing is going anywhere. They spoke with a LTC Goodwin who stated that the sec def, the surgeon general, and 1 other person have a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the issue, so hopefully sometime late next week there will be more information on what's going to happen or how long it's going to take. I have no idea how long it takes to get something added to a regulation but I can't imagine it's going to be quick...

It really is as simple as an OTSG memo. The problem is they are now war gaming this when it should have been done prior to throwing out the change.

So we are just waiting on a meeting of Brass to say start rating soldiers?

Good news my status has changed it now says claim received and under type it says special correspondence not sure if its good news or just news but it just changed today!

I put very little stock into what eBenefits says. Even in my own claims it is usually old news or just plain wrong.

well on the bright side if its old then my ratings are right around the corner on the darkside it could be just plain wrong never know till that day I guess

My case was forwarded to the VA on January 10th. On the 23rd of April it changed to Preparation For Decision. I confirmed that with my MSC; he said they had "pulled" my file and it was now in the Rating Phase. I certainly understand people's frustration and lack of trust in eBenefits, but for me it has been correct, so far.

PEBLO11, in your experience, do you expect I may be getting close to receiving my Preliminary Ratings?

I wouldn't even hazard a guess based on eBenefits. Seriously, it is that wrong that often. Your PEBLO would have a better idea by looking at the VTA and seeing if your preliminary ratings are showing in the RO tab.
